Caf-logo
Equatorial Guinea has been confirmed as the new hosts of the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) this week stripped Morocco of the hosting rights of the tournament, after they refused to host the tournament over concerns of Ebola Outbreak Virus on the continent.
Morocco wanted CAF to delay the tournament till the virus has been contained, but the continent's football body declined.
Most countries who were approached to host the tournament, refused and withdrew any interest, as the time was short.

However, after three days of consultations, CAF settled for the Equatorial Guinea who will now have about 60 days to prepare for the tournament.

Interestingly, Equatorial Guinea were disqualified from the 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers for fielding an ineligible player, but they will now qualify as hosts.

The four cities are Malabo, Bata, Mongomo and Ebebiyin. The final tournament draw takes place on Wednesday 3rd December in Malabo.
