Life After Omoladun: Baba Suwe finds love again; to remarry soon

Babatunde Omidina known as Baba Suwe is a successful comedian better known for his exploits in Yoruba home videos. He is still arguably the most popular Yoruba comedian of his time. But Baba Suwe hasn’t been having it easy. After the much publicised crisis with National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,NDLEA, he lost his wife, Omoladun, who was almost always his soul-mate, even in films. Baba Suwe talked with Potpourri, opening up his heart on a number of issues, Excerpts:

Nigerians to enjoy steady power by Oct-FG

The Federal Government, Friday, said plans have been put in place to ensure steady supply of electricity in the country by October 2014.
Minister of Power, Professor Chenedu Nebo who briefed State House Correspondents in Abuja said government has made efforts to ensure constant availability of gas at power stations to boast power generation.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revised the size of Nigerian economy to about N81.009 trillion following it latest final rebasing of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), using the Expenditure Approach between 2010-2013.

This represented a marginal increase from the projected N80 trillion in 2013 when the output method was used the compute the rebased GDP in May.

According to the GDP Report (Expenditure Approach) 2010-2013 released by the statistical agency, the final consumption of Household Items Expenditure accounted for the largest chunk of the rebased GDP figures at about N58.13 trillion in 2013, up from the N42.115 trillion of the preceding year.

The Federal Government, yesterday, took far-reaching decisions to curtail the spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, in the country as it postponed the resumption of all primary and secondary schools till October 13, even as government cleared the air on the health status of a sister to the late Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh, confirming that she is Ebola-free.
