Aiyegbeni may return to England

Yakubu-Aiyegbeni-pg-61-30-12-14

QUEENS Park Rangers boss, Harry Redknapp, is considering a reunion with out of favour Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni at QPR.
The Rangers boss signed the Nigerian forward at Portsmouth and is currently at Qatari club Al Rayyan. The striker’s last Premier League action was getting relegated with Blackburn in 2012.
According to Mirror.co.uk Monday, Yakubu is among the names on Redknapp’s hit-list in January.
The QPR boss is exploring the option of signing Yakubu to take the pressure off top scorer Charlie Austin.
Yakubu, who plays for Qatari club Al Rayyan, was in the stands to watch Rangers’ 2-1 defeat at Arsenal on Boxing Day.

He has just six months left on his contract in the Middle East and is open to another crack in the Premier League.
Despite being 32, Redknapp believes ‘The Yak’ could be worth the risk as he chases firepower.
He also represents a cheaper option than Toronto’s Jermain Defoe, with ‘Arry told to secure survival on a shoestring.
Redknapp remains a big fan having first signed Yakubu during his stint at Portsmouth.
His performances in the 2002–03 UEFA Champions League for Maccabi Haifa earned a loan move to English club Portsmouth, which became permanent as they were promoted to the Premier League in 2003.
Yakubu has since appeared in over 250 Premier League matches for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, and Blackburn Rovers, and is the second highest African goalscorer in Premier League history with 96 goals before heading to China in 2012.
He is the third highest scorer in the history of the Super Eagles, and represented Nigeria at four African Cup of Nations finals, the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the soccer event at Beijing 2000 Summer Olympics.
