Nigeria's Super Falcons win 2014 African Women Championship

The Super Falcons of Nigeria this evening October 25th beat Cameroon 2-0 to win the 9th African Women Championship 2014 which took place in Namibia. Football stars Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoala gave Nigeria the victory after scoring the two goals in the match. This will be the 7th time Nigeria has clinched the title. Thanks girls!!

Super Falcons Asisat Oshoala was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

I fell out with Patience Jonathan because I refused to share Rivers money with her" - Amaechi

Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi says the major reason he and the first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan fell out was because he refused to share the state money with her. Gov Amaechi said this yesterday October 24th at the graduation ceremony of the Pioneer graduands of the Ignatus Ajuru University of Education held at Rumuolumeni in Rivers state. He said

"Remember, when I became governor, I fought militancy. Right there where you built a new house used to be a hole where they pass into the river nd escape. The security report reached me and I came here and chased the militants away. I asked them to fence the school premises and block the hole. I have to protect you because it is my responsibility. Mr Ikechukwu Desmond Okonkwo, was paraded on Friday by the Nasarawa State Police Command and the charge against him is that he has been having carnal knowledge of his three daughters.
The absurdity was revealed to the police by his wife, Mrs Comfort Okonkwo of Ezeagwu Old Village, Ezia LGA of Enugu State. The three daughters corroborated their mother’s allegation.
The man has been charged to court but he is begging for forgiveness and blaming the devil for his acts.

The merchant of misery and owner of Ebola.com, Jon Schultz, has sold the domain to a company called the Weed Growth Fund for a six-figure combination of cash and stock holdings that adds up to $ 214,000(N35,239,380).
The seller of Ebola.com, Jon Schultz is the owner of Blue String Ventures, which also owns H1N1.com and Birdflu.com, among others. He bought Ebola.com six years ago for $ 13,500, and had previously said he thought $ 150,000 was a reasonable price for the domain.

Melissa Rivers, Joan Rivers' Daughter Inherits Over $100m

Melissa Rivers, daughter of American comedian and fashion critic, Joan Rivers has officially inherited over $1oo million; both in cash and from her the value of her mother's estate.

While she inherited $75 in cash, she also gets $35 million of her mum's New York home.

Interestingly, Melissa's son and Joan's grandson Cooper aged 13 also received his fair share of the inheritance even as the family deals with the news that the celebrity show host died from surgery complications.

Nurse Nina Pham, the first person to contract Ebola in the US met with president Obama at The White this afternoon where she received a hug from him.
Nina, who contracted Ebola while treating Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan at the Emory University hospital in Texas, is now free from the virus after being successfully treated at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. Fayose’s supporters rally against alleged impeachment plot in Ado Ekiti

Hundreds of supporters of Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, on Friday trooped to the streets to protest alleged plan by members of the state House of Assembly to impeach the governor.
The protesters, under the aegis of Positive Minds Club for Teachers (PMCT), first converged on Fajuyi Park, Ado Ekiti with placards in the early hours of the day.
The protesters later marched to Ijigbo roundabout, Okesha, Okeyinmin areas of Ado Ekiti, where they were addressed by two of their leaders.

Ex NBA President Okey Wali released after 13 days in captivity

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr Okey Wali, who was kidnapped on Oct 11th in Port Harcourt by unknown gunmen, has been released. According to a statement released today and signed by the current President of the NBA, Mr Augustine Aleghe, Mr Wali was released around 11pm last night after spending 13 days in captivity.

The statement did not state where Mr Wali was released and if any ransom was paid for his release.
