Actress Lizzy Anjorin threatens and insults Saidi Balogun

A fresh war is brewing in the Yoruba movie industry and this is between two top actors Lizzy Anjorin  and Saidi Balogun!
Lizzy has threatened fire and brimstone as Saidi Balogun’s birthday event clashes with her movie premiere slated for the 7th of July 2017.

According to the actress, not only is the top actor Saidi playing a lead role in her movie, she also thinks of him as a brother, only for him to fix his event for the same date as the premiere of her movie Owo Naira Bet and also employ the use of her anchors and performers.
Although she mentioned no name, it is not difficult to find out who she is referring to considering the fact that actor Saudi Balogun’s birthday is finally happening after been shifted to respect Moji Olaiya, plus Saidi plays a very important role in the movie.
The obviously angry Lizzy has threatened that she would not take the matter lightly. She swore to eat any one who crosses her lane raw, as she has respect for only God.”I will call on God, my late patents and some old people in my village if you try to destroy my career ” Lizzy threatens!

“When you die, they run helter skelter contributing money for you but while you live they hinder your success” she alleged.
Fans of the actress are already talking to the actress to calm down and talk it out with Saidi, but from the look of things, would the 50 year old man succumb because of the threats and insult?

Following the singer's visit, the father of one of the injured said he had never seen his daughter so happy.
Suicide bomber Salman Abedi killed 22 people and injured dozens more at Grande's 22 May Manchester Arena gig.

Abedi blew himself up in the attack at Manchester Arena, but police have made a number of arrests as investigations continue.
Ten men, aged between 18 and 44, remain in custody on suspicion of terrorism offences in connection with the attack, police have said.
A 15-year-old boy, a 34-year-old woman, and four men have been released without charge.

Our Daily Bread Devotional, June 3, 2017 - Someone to Trust

Topic: Someone to Trust [Saturday June 3, 2017]

Read: John 13:33–35, Bible in a Year: 2 Chronicles 19–20; John 13:21–38

Many proclaim themselves loyal, but who can find one worthy of trust? Proverbs 20:6 nrsv

“I just can’t trust anyone,” my friend said through tears. “Every time I do, they hurt me.”  Her story angered me—an ex-boyfriend, whom she really thought she could trust, had started spreading rumors about her as soon as they broke up.  Struggling to trust again after a pain-filled childhood, this betrayal seemed just one more confirmation that people could not be trusted.

I struggled to find words that would comfort. One thing I could not say was that she was wrong about how hard it is to find someone to fully trust, that most people are completely kind and trustworthy. Her story was painfully familiar, reminding me of moments of unexpected betrayal in my own life. In fact, Scripture is very candid about human nature. In Proverbs 20:6, the author voices the same lament as my friend, forever memorializing the pain of betrayal.

Jesus, help us to share Your love with the world.

What I could say is that the cruelty of others is only part of the story. Although wounds from others are real and painful, Jesus has made genuine love possible. In John 13:35, Jesus told His disciples that the world would know they were His followers because of their love. Although some people may still hurt us, because of Jesus there will also always be those who, freely sharing His love, will unconditionally support and care for us. Resting in His unfailing love, may we find healing, community, and  courage to love others as He did.

Jesus has made true love possible.

Insight:

Love is one of the most prominent themes in the apostle John’s writing. In John’s gospel, Jesus spoke often about love: God’s love for the world (3:16), the love of the Father for the Son (3:35; 5:20; 10:17), Jesus’s love for His disciples (13:34–35), how the disciples were to show they love Jesus and each other (14:23–28), and even what love looks like (15:13). In his later letters (see 1, 2, and 3 John), John continues to focus on God’s love, mentioning God’s love for us or our love for Him and others more than thirty times.

Perhaps the most famous of all Jesus’s statements about love is found in John 15:13: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Jesus said this in the same context of asking His disciples to love one another as He had loved them (13:34) and mere hours before He demonstrated this great love by going to the cross to die for them. Sacrificing ourselves for another is the greatest expression of love. Who needs to see Jesus’s love through you today?

Television Continental Sacked Members of Its Staff

The management of Continental Broadcasting Service, owners of Television Continental, TVC, this morning sacked 145 members of its staff. TVC is owned by National Leader of APC, Bola Tinubu.

Among the reason for the mass sack is over bloated workforce and high over head cost.

The media house in its downsizing, also shut down one of its TV station which is the TVC News Africa. The photo above shows the sacked workers being addressed by the management just before they were dismissed. They were however paid their entitlements as they were disengaged.

June To Jubilee

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: June To Jubilee [01/06/2017]

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:3. Read: Ps 40:1-4

Welcome to the Month of June. God took you through the month of May and  has made you enter this new month of June which shall lead you to your jubilee. It's going to be a month to remember. In this new month of June, don't loose focus and don't focus on the wrong person for your help, rather, look up to God for your help. Where you look up to for help is important. If your help is on a mere man, you shall be disappointed because every man needs help too. God is set to make you jubilate this new month, but, are you ready for him.

This month of June, God Almighty shall give you a new song, take you from the miry clay and place you on the solid rock. He shall not leave you until all that He has said concerning you come to pass. Every day of your life, you shall have reasons to jubilate, rejoicing and sound of melody will never cease in your life and family. Welcome to the Month of your jubilee. Your set time to be favoured has come and  it's now.

#BiblePromisesPrayer

* Father, in this Month of June, let me experience jubilation indeed in Jesus Mighty Name. #HappyNewMonth

FUTA Set To Launch Satellite Into Space

FUTA JOINS THE SPACE LEAGUE AS SPACEX FALCON9 ROCKET LAUNCHES BIRDS 1 SATELLITES

The Federal University of Technology Akure , FUTA , scientific prowess will get a big fillip on Thursday  June 1st at 10.55pm (Nigerian time),  when the SpaceX Falcon9 Rocket launches Birds 1 satellites, comprising 5 CubeSats belonging to Japan, Ghana, Mongolia, Nigeria and Bangladesh, into Space from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, USA. The Nigerian CubeSat, code name NigeriaEdusat-1, is designed, built and owned by The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) in collaboration with National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja, Nigeria, and Kyushu Institute of Technology Japan. Mr Ibukun Adebolu  of FUTA’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is the representative of Nigeria on the project. Adebolu who is involved in the Stucture Configuration Design, BIRDS Project gives details of his role on the project, "My role in the Birds’ Project is Structure Design. Drawing on my background in Mechanical Engineering, I am saddled with the task of ensuring that our satellites have sufficient strength and rigidity to survive the rigorous launch and space environments. In order to achieve this, I have to ensure that all payload and Bus System are properly accommodated within the 10 cubic centimeter structure. I find this very challenging, because it involves a lot of optimization and trade-offs. In the future, I hope to work more on other aspects of satellite design"
It is the first ever University satellite to be launched in Nigeria. The CubeSats will be launched and docked to the International Space Station where the satellites will be deployed into lower orbit during the last week of June 2017. The CubeSats launch can be viewed live via the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P11y8N22Rq0 and http://www.spacex.com/missions Nigeria’s media outfits are expected to view the launch and capture the reports and photographs for public consumption/information.
The major objective of NigeriaEdusat-1 is capacity building, i. e. domesticating the satellite technology in a Nigerian university, FUTA, and making the technology a common business among staff and students of the university in Nigeria for the purpose of research, resources and environmental management and sustainable socio-economic development of the nation. The satellite technology development in the long run shall have spillover effects on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education that is an essential tool for a country industrial development.

Exit Of Awo Disciple

I have been reading all the pieces that Ebino Topsy (Chief Ebenezer Babatope)  has been writing, especially of his dearly loved ones that have crossed the bridge. I never thought I could one day take the baton from him. Death is absolutely inevitable. Yes. But who signed the visa for Papa Demola Awosanya’s exit? Alhaji Chief lliyasu Demola Awosanya (1930-2017), Baba Oba-Simawa, Baba Oba  Lowa  Ibu-Batoro—both Kingdoms in Sagamu Local Government—was a multi-talented senior citizen. His health profile gave all those close to him the solid impression that he  belonged to Professor Oladipo Ogunlesi’s longevity camp. Pa Ogunlesi, by the way, is still agile, enigmatic and vibrant at 94 (July 2017). By God’s extraordinary grace, we shall all be there to celebrate the first Professor of Medicine in West Africa when he turns 100. So help us God.

Sandwich recipes with health benefits

Prepare a work-friendly packed lunch sarnie with added health benefits, including low-calorie, low-fat, calcium-rich and omega-3-rich options.
Three-layer brown bread sandwich on a plate
Shop-bought sandwiches can be high in fat, salt and sugar, so making your own allows you to create healthier options. Ready-made sandwiches can contain high-fat cheese and dressing or sugary chutney, making some high street choices as calorific as burgers.
Our sandwich recipes are packed nutritious ingredients and feature slow-release energy from lean protein, fish rich in omega-3 and filling beans. When it comes to bread, some shop-bought loaves can be high in salt, so keep an eye on portion sizes. Always go for a fibre-rich loaf rather than refined white bread. Along with thin-cut wholemeal bread, we've used wholemeal and seed wraps and pitta, but crispy lettuce also makes a great wrap and is gluten-free.

Healthy veggie olive wraps with mustard vinaigrette

Key benefits: Low-fat, calcium-rich, fibre-rich, source of vit C, source of folate, 3 of 5-a-day
Veggie olive wrap sliced on a tray
When it comes to sandwiches, the more colourful the better. This seeded wrap with courgette, olives and spring onions is a handy vegan option that's low-calorie but still packs in three of your 5-a-day. If you're not a fan of olives, spread the wrap with a nut butter like peanut, almond or cashew instead before adding the filling. Go for a sugar-free butter without palm oil. It will add more protein but also a little extra fat too, so don't slather on too much.

Low-fat herby chicken gyros

Key benefits: 3 of 5-a-day, low-calorie, low-fatHerby chicken gyros in napkin
Fancy a sandwich with a Greek spin and plenty of bite? This herby chicken gyros is full of salad and nutrient-rich veg like peppers, avocado and tomatoes. Switch up the chicken breast with lean steak for an alternative rich in iron, B vitamins and zinc.

Low-calorie BLT

Key benefits: Source of folate and fibre, low-calorie, 3 of 5-a-dayStack of three BLT sandwiches
This chunky BLT contains three of your 5-a-day. We've replaced butter and mayo with avocado, which provides one of your 5-a-day and gives a rich, creamy texture. We've also replaced the bacon with crisp prosciutto as a little goes a long way. You can also swap the prosciutto for chicken, roast beef or prawns. Make it veggie by spreading the bread with houmous and thinly slicing avocado instead of meat.

Omega-3-rich lemony salmon & lettuce wraps

Key benefits: low-fat, low-calorie, source of calcium, folate, omega-3 and fibre, 2 of 5-a-dayLemony salmon & lettuce wraps on a wooden chopping board
Salmon is omega-3 rich and makes a great change from canned tuna. This lemonywrap recipe uses crisp lettuce rather than tortilla wraps, and it's healthy, calcium-rich and gluten-free. For an alternative filling, try a homemade tomato salsa of red beans, coriander, chilli and lime with lean chicken or turkey.

Calcium-rich feta toast with minty beans

Key benefits: 2 of 5-a-day, source of folate, calcium and fibreToast topped with broad beans, cheese and beetroot
This open sandwich with minty soy beans, crumbly feta cheese and beetroot is versatile, can be built at your desk and needs just a handful of ingredients. Toasting the bread adds texture and stops it going soggy. For an alternative topping, try mashed avocado with poached salmon instead of feta. You could also swap your feta for a strong blue cheese and top with fresh pear instead of beetroot, plus a few walnuts and dried dates or raisins instead of the beans.

LETTER TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS!

LETTER TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS!

Throw Away That Degree Otherwise You Will Die Poor

Most of the educated people in Nigeria are poor. Majority of the educated earn less than N55,000 for a salary before tax and other deductions. When the deductions are put into consideration, the net salary comes to around N50,000. The net salary then suffers from loan deductions of up to N15,000 leaving the salary at around N35,000. The landlord then demands for his N15,000 and monthly shopping takes away N10,000 leaving one with a N10,000. The bus will demand for N300 going to and from work and relatives get another N2,500. The whole salary is gone and borrowed money starts operating. The borrowed money includes short loans and salary advances.

The difference between poverty and prosperity is property. A prosperous person has property to his name while a poverty stricken person has no property to show. Using this understanding, therefore, most of the degree holders are poverty stricken, borrowing money to buy chicken and chips, pizza, and a car.

The biggest excuse for getting paid such low amounts of money and having to sit and work for another person for 30 days is THE DEGREE that one possesses and that’s all. This has made most of the degree holders very poor to poverty stricken and will die that way most likely. A degree holder does not know how to generate money unless that money is generated for the employer. A degree holder is so dependent on the salary that he can do anything to get a job but will not think of starting a business of his own to employ others.

Interesting Facts!

1.   A degree holder is not prepared to sell chips but is very happy to work for hungry lion (companies).

2.   A degree holder is not prepared to sell popcorn in the street but is very happy to work for Dangote outlet in the city and mum river-sides.

3.   A degree holder is not prepared to sell second hand clothes but is very happy to be employed by Zenith Bank which the business of selling stocks and looking for customers in a scorching Sun.

4.   A degree holder is not prepared to make N150,000 monthly doing his own business but is very happy to work at the till in a bank getting paid N25,000.

5.   A degree holder is not prepared to start a company and grow it in two to three years but will spend three years searching for a job.

6.   A degree holder is not prepared to sell food to students but will be happy to be reporting to a boss with no qualifications as Office Assistant as long as he is paid N30,000 for a salary.

7.   A degree holder is so eager to get out of this country and work in another country than spend time to develop his own country.

8.   A degree holder staying in a foreign land (Nigerian) is very keen to condemn Nigeria but never contributing to the development of this country.

9.   A Nigerian degree holder would rather sweep the streets of London or USA than start a business to make money in her father land – others work in people’s homes doing some work (cleaners).

10. A degree holder in Nigeria will watch porn on his laptop but never sit to write a book using the same laptop to sell and make money.

11. A degree holder will blame the government for lack of jobs even after he was on government bursary for him to have his degree.

12. Nigeria is blessed with young people who have master’s degree and others are doctors in different technical fields such as IT and Engineering but all of them have failed to create a cartoon character or develop a movie from the same instead very happy to buy Tom and Jerry for their children thereby promoting American and UK.

A school I visit, there is a man that is of very humble background. He does not speak English but sells Coke, Fanta and Sprite at N80 each making a profit of N10 on each drink. He also sells chips at N50 making a profit of N17 on each portion. Not less than 80 students buy chips and a drink every single day. This means he makes a profit of N27 for a drink and chips and a total profit of N2,160 per day…every single day. In ten days he makes a profit of N21,600 in twenty days N43,200 and in thirty days N64,800.

The degree holder working in a bank at the till gets a salary of N45,000 every month.

Why are the degree holders poor?

Because they have decided to pride themselves in a degree and failed to think better than a man who does not have even a certificate to his name.

Degree holders spend their time liking articles on linkedIn and facebook but never have any care in the world to implement what they like. Poverty starts from the mind, a mind that just likes things but never to implement those things.

If you want to progress, keep that degree and start thinking better than someone without a degree. There's no white collar Job anywhere bro!

Be prepared to get your hands dirty and work like an ox for your business. Your hard work will pay off.

Yours Sincerely. ..

Arsene Wenger: Arsenal boss meets owner Stan Kroenke to decide future

Manager Arsene Wenger held a crucial meeting with Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke on Monday, at which the Frenchman's future was expected to be decided.
The outcome is unclear but the decision rests solely with Wenger and Kroenke and will be relayed to directors at a Tuesday board meeting.
Even on Monday morning it was not known if he would extend a deal that expires this summer or leave after 21 years.
Fresh terms were agreed in principle some months ago, but nothing is signed.
Wenger's preference has always been to stay, but the determining factor was how he believed the atmosphere around the club would be affected by him doing so.
The 67-year-old has faced unprecedented criticism during a season in which the Gunners finished outside the Premier League's top four for the first time during his reign.
However, they beat Chelsea on Saturday to win the FA Cup, making Wenger the most successful manager - and Arsenal the most successful team - in the competition's history.
Although Kroenke has never wavered in his desire for Wenger to remain in charge, certain board members feel the time has come for the Frenchman to leave.
However, all power lies with the American, so Wenger's main concern is external opposition and the conditions that might create for his players next season.
Wenger has admitted the uncertainty over his position did not help performances on the pitch or the surrounding environment, and that it should have been resolved sooner.
Fans protesting against Arsene Wenger
Wenger has faced fierce protests from fans this season
Arsenal lost seven of 12 matches between 31 January and 10 April, including a 10-2 aggregate defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16.
They responded by winning nine of their last 10 games - among them the FA Cup final against Premier League champions Chelsea - but a fifth-place finish in the league ended their run of 19 consecutive years in the Champions League and instead they will contest the Europa League next season.
Although Wenger also met Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis on Monday, the time he spent with Kroenke would have been decisive.
The businessman has privately reiterated his support for Wenger and his commitment to providing him with the resources he needs to win the Premier League title.
Wenger is acutely aware of the disruption his departure at such a late stage could cause, which is one of the reasons why it is most likely he will extend his reign. However, it is not definitive.
Arsenal are planning to make an announcement and release an interview with Wenger on Wednesday, when further internal changes are expected to be outlined.
Those changes will not be drastic nor impinge on Wenger's control over the technical side of the club.
There is no prospect of a director of football being appointed, though a lower-profile role to enhance Arsenal's work in areas such as scouting and contracts is under consideration.
Transfer and contract negotiator Dick Law, whose own deal expires in September, will keep his job for the time being.
