So Sad! Child star of Everybody Loves Raymond, Sawyer Sweeten, commits suicide

One of the popular Sweeten twins, child stars of hit US show Everybody Loves Raymond has killed himself. Sawyer Sweeten (left & centre) shot himself on the front porch of the family home in Texas yesterday morning April 23rd. He was 19 years old.

"This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred," the family said in a statement. "We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love."

Sawyer played Geoffrey Barone in the hit show, which also featured his twin brother Sullivan as Michael Barone and older sister Madylin as Ally Barone. Everybody Loves Raymond ran from 1996 - when the Sweeten twins were just 16 months old - to 2005 when they were 10.

Purportedly text between Tonto Dikeh and some personal shopper called Pearl Chucks as culled from LIB about Tonto buying stuff from her and allegedly refusing to pay for them. Then I later saw the shopper calling out Tonto Dikeh on instagram. I didn't carry the story because it could just be someone trying to use her name to draw attention to her business but Tonto just replied her - acknowledging that she had business dealings with this person, so now I can carry the story. 2015 Budget: Jonathan Will Be "Well Taken Care Of": See List

8 injured Nigerians ‘coming home’ from S’Africa

Eight Nigerians have so far indicated interest in returning home due to xenophobic attacks, Uche Ajulu-Okeke, Nigeria’s consul-general in South Africa revealed on Wednesday. Okeke told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on phone from Johannesburg, South Africa, that the Nigerian mission was already working with them to facilitate their journey back home. “I am working with eight Nigerians who have indicated interest to go home. They are presently at the deportation holding facility at Limbola, South Africa,” she said. The consul-general said the mission held a meeting with leaders of the Nigerian Union in the nine provinces of South Africa. “The meeting was successful. Victims of the attacks came with wounds, including machete and gunshot wounds. “They narrated how they were attacked and brought pictures. We took note of all that. The mission asked all the provincial chairmen of the union to collate all information reported.’’

Senate President: The contentions and candidates

IT was in May 2003 and members of the House of Representatives who won re-election in the National Assembly elections that took place the month before, were seeking ways and manners to project themselves as older legislators at the commencement of the new legislative term.
ONe suggestion that was quickly adopted was the amendment of the House Standing Rules to establish the principle of ranking in the election of principal officers of the House. The principle, which the lawmakers said was a legislative practise adopted in all parts of the world was, even extended to committees where it was decreed that ranking would be observed even in the allocation of committee chairmen.

Mr. President won’t sign

MORE than two years of legislative work, expectations of millions of Nigerians and the new directions of democratic growth that the proposed constitutional amendment would have produced are about to be wasted. President Goodluck Jonathan would not sign the document. It would be difficult to know if his action is based on patriotism or just indecision. Either way, it would hurt the polity for some time.
His arguments for not signing the document, which has been with him for months, include some unclear provisions and the constitutional gaps that some of the proposed amendments could cause. He even claimed there was no proof that two-third of the State Houses of Assembly approved the amendments, as the law requires.

NNPC finally remits missing “1.48bn dollars” Diezani Alison-Madueke

In a recent development!Petroleum Minister,on wednessday while addressing State correspondents disclosed that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has started refunding the ‘notorious‘$ 1.48bn unremitted fund into the Federation Account as recommended by an audit firm, PriceWaterHouse Coopers.

The Federation Account Allocation Committee had on Monday night constituted a committee to find reasons for the initial delay in the refund of the sum.

Army Rescued 43 Boko Haram child soldiers in Borno state

In an effort to rid North East and other affected areas of  insurgents! 43 Boko Haram, child soldiers in the terrorist den have been rescued by the Chadian army in Damasak, Borno state. Spokesperson of Chadian Army, Col. Azem Agouna, while revealing this yesterday April 22nd, said the children, all aged between 12 and above and of Chadian nationality managed to escape during the clashes between insurgents and soldiers, while local families helped them to hide from the militias.

He explained that when it was certain that Boko Haram had been defeated and would not return to the town, the children came out of their hiding places and asked Chadian security forces for help. The spokesman said the children have been repatriated back to Chad while a full scale investigation into how they were abducted will be launched.
