With President Muhammadu Buhari's lawyer's ₦500,000 'gift' to Justice Adeniyi Ademola while the certificate case was being tried before that judge and with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation's Grasscuttergate scandal, can we all stop pretending and accept that the anti corruption war is dead?

I believe I now know the reason why God allowed President Buhari to come back to power. It was to expose him for who he really is. Not a saint, but a hypocrite!

A hypocrite of the highest order. A so called anti corruption crusader who writes letters to cover his corrupt Secretary to the Government of the Federation and whose lawyer gives gifts to a justice that is being tried for collecting gifts from others. Do as I say, not as I do!

Things were already bad enough until the President's spokesman released his statement trying to justify the 'gift'! 

When Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari's spokesman, says PMB's lawyers ₦500,000 payment to Justice Ademola was a 'gift' not a bribe he must think that Nigerians are on the bottom of the ladder in the rational thinking food chain!

So if I take a bribe and call it a 'gift', according to Femi Adesina, it automatically transforms from corruption to 'gift'? So President Buhari believes in the Transformation Agenda after all! Who would have thought so! 

So why can President Buhari's lawyer give gifts but Andrew Yakubu cannot accept 'gift'? The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission should just release everybody they are trying because they took 'gifts' not bribe. After all, President Buhari and his lawyer have shown us the way!

The Justice Ademola that is currently being tried is accused of taking bribes because people gave him gifts. So why were their gifts proceeds of corruption and Lawyer Awodein's (Buhari's lawyer) a proceed of friendship?

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a bribe is defined thus:

Now if you consider the favorable way the certificate case against the President has being going for him in the matter before Justice Ademola, you may be forgiven if you quote Proverbs 18:14 and say "a man's gift makes room for him". 

With all apologies to the publishers of the Oxford English Dictionary let me say that they have to alter the meanings of some words in their dictionary. 

With Nigeria's situation on my mind, I suggest the following edits to the definition of the word gift

And while we are at it, I am feeling some generosity to my readers. If any of my readers will like a GIFT, then they should send me an email. But if they would prefer a BRIBE, then they should send me a hand written letter instead. If you as my reader does not know the difference, then contact President Muhammadu Buhari's lawyer! 

Everybody gives gifts but some gifts are more equal than others. For tips on giving EFCC approved gifts, see President Buhari's lawyer! The DEODORANT has been sprayed on Lawyer Awodein and the INSECTICIDE is being sprayed on Justice Ademola. Now I understand Shehu Sani!

But this President Muhammadu Buhari knows how to code better than Mark Zuckerberg! Look at the code word his team used for the payment made to Justice Ademola. The 'gift'! 

I am tempted to ask what else they have coded? Is the 2017 budget codedly (I invented the word codedly since we are all making edits to the Oxford English Dictionary) padded? Have they coded INEC to produce only inconclusive elections? Is Babachir's grass cutting contract a means to get more resources to provide future coded gifts? 

In fact, I am reliably informed that APC members give GIFT while PDP members give BRIBE but if you were once a Peoples Democratic Party member and you are now in the APC you give GIFTED BRIBE! Now we understand why Rotimi Ameachi said he never gave nor received bribes. As an APC member, maybe he gave and received 'gifts'. After all, there is nothing wrong with that! Our leader has shown us the way!

And President Buhari is not the only hypocrite in town. His mini me, Nasir Elrufai, the unofficial Vice President and Khalifa of the Buhari personality cult is as hypocritical as they come.

Many Nigerians were shocked to find out that Malam Nasir Elrufai, the Governor of Kaduna state, instigated the arrest of Audu Maikori, Nigeria's version of Jay Z and the CEO of Chocolate City, a man who has made many stars including Africa's number one rapper, MI Abaga.

What is Maikori's crime in Elrufai's eyes? That he erroneously tweeted false information that he had been by his driver who misled him for the purpose of obtaining financial favours from him. 

When Maikori realized he had been duped, he immediately apologized. But that was not enough for his Governor. He was accused of incitement because of his tweets!

But the thing is that the Elrufai that is now so sanctimonious is actually by far guiltier than Audu Maikori in what he accuses him of. In fact, Elrufai is the grandfather of making false an inviting comments on Twitter and other social media platforms and I will prove it.

On November 25, 2014, Nasir El-Rufai, the current Governor of Kaduna State, in a tweet questioned whether then President Goodluck Jonathan was traveling to Chad to plot attacks with the Chadian President. On September 8, 2014 Elrufai, via a tweet accused then President Jonathan of funding Christians who masquerade as Boko Haram and accused the then President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of being the commander of the so called Christian Boko Haram. On the same day he also tweeted that pastor Ayo had been paid ₦50 billion and a jet for the purpose of his Christian Boko Haram whose purpose was to "tarnish the name of Islam". 

On July 24, 2014 Elrufai, via another tweet, accused then President Jonathan of meeting with his terrorists from Nasarawa state. On January 2, 2014, Elrufai alleged that he was number 6 on a list of politicians to be assassinated by then President Jonathan. He also claimed that the current President, Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rotimi Amaechi was on that list.

On November 9, 2013, as then President knelt praying to his God, Elrufai tweeted a picture of the President and said (and I quote) "many prayers of the lazy, docile, incompetent, clueless, hopeless, useless leader!"

On July 15, 2012, shortly after then President Jonathan had issued an Executive Order to the military to fish out killer Fulani herdsmen that had turned some parts of Plateau state to a theater of war, Elrufai tweeted the following:

"We will write this for all to read. Anyone, soldier or not that kills the Fulani takes a loan repayable one day no matter how long it takes."

On January 28, 2013, this same Elrufai had tweeted thus:

 “If Jesus criticises Jonathan’s government, Maku, Abati or Okupe will say that he slept with Mary Magdalene”.

On October 2, 2010, Elrufai posted on facebook the lie that the Jonathan administration had spent 64 billion Naira celebrating Independence Anniversaries during its time in office. His exact words were as follows:

“This is the APC/PMB change wevoted for. Independence anniversary expenditure for the past five years: 2011 – N13bn; 2012 -N15bn; 2013 – N14bn; 2014 – N22bn; 2015 N70 million"

Well, a Freedom of Information request was made by activists to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and even though this administration hates the guts of former President Jonathan, they were forced to admit that Nasir Elrufai lied and that the Jonathan administration spent only N333, 600, 000 for four years to hold independence day celebrations. An amount that is less than 1% of what Elrufai claimed was spent.

As I write this to you, Nasir Elrufai HAS NOT apologized for shy of these strings of lies!  

Yet, this is the same Elrufai that has now instigated the arrest of Audu Maikori for allegedly inciting the public by spreading lies. This the biggest act of HYPOCRISY I have seen and I urge you my reader to individually Google these tweets and facebook posts. Do not take my word for it.

When a man who has a history of falsely attributing such deviousness to Christians (as he did with his September 18, 2014 tweet accusing Christians of being behind Boko Haram) becomes Governor of a state, should we be surprised at the fate that has been visited upon the Christian people of Southern Kaduna?

If you can believe that Christians were behind Boko Haram to "tarnish the name of Islam" as he himself tweeted, who can tell what he would do to get revenge on them when he finds himself in a position to do so as Governor?

If without power Nasir Elrufai showed open bias for the Fulani people as he did in his tweet of July 15, 2012, can any reasonable person expect him to be objective while he is in power? That would be like expecting a man who cannot keep his hands off a woman when he is dating her to become chaste with her after he has married her. It is not possible!

Knowing the manipulative tendencies of Nasir Elrufai and his Machiavellian, the end justifies the means approach to power, I will not be surprised if he starts sponsoring articles against me as a Fulani hater, so let me be preemptive.

I love the Fulani. They are perhaps the most beautiful Black people on planet earth. I am now a pastor and have been faithfully married for the last thirteen years to the same woman who I expect to stay married to until Jesus returns or I die, but before then I was in a relationship with a Fulani from Taraba state. I do not need to go into too much detail but suffice to say that I did what most young people would do in a relationship (this was before I re dedicated my life to Christ).

In the course of that relationship, I visited and spent time in Taraba, in Gembu and Nguroje to be specific. My time was spent with a beautiful clan of Fulani people who would not have minded having me as an in-law. They taught me some Fulfulde and I remember them and my time with them with nostalgia. I still have pictures from that time. 

There is no way I could have gotten so close to the Fulani and even contemplated becoming their in-law if I did not and do not admire them.

Moreover, perhaps my best friend while I was in Law School (1999-2000) was Abbas Ibrahim, a pure Fulani from Maradun in Zamfara state who now works in the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja.

This article is not targeting the Fulani. No. rather, it is identifying one of them who has, perhaps more than anybody else in Nigeria today, sown seeds of discord, hate and division by his words, actions and writing.

Nasir Elrufai is not an example for Fulatanci and this may explain why he tries so hard to show loyalty to virtues and traits that are a given to the well brought up Fulani I have come to know and respect intimately. His Pulako is doing great harm to the Fulani Peoples of Nigeria.

Finally, let me end this piece by saying that I was so glad to hear President Muhammadu Buhari's voice as he spoke to Governor Ganduje of Kano state the other day. I hope by this call, people can leave the man to "rest" in London and not disturb him with their eye service visits to him.

To those who have done so and to others who are contemplating doing so, I hope and pray you get treated like the Guardian Newspaper reporter who was almost arrested when the residents of Abuja House (President Buhari's current residence) called the police to help get rid of him. But just in case you do not get arrested, permit me to write a new version of an Old Nursery Rhyme for you.

The British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, has made a comparison between Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari and the reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, BBN, saying both are currently not in Nigeria.

In a report headlined, “Why is Nigeria’s President Buhari still in London?,” BBC relied on various reports surrounding Buhari’s vacation to London for medical attention to say the President’s continued stay in UK has kept on being a subject of discuss for Nigerians. In the report, BBC said, “As Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was beginning his latest visit to London more than a month ago, a new series of Big Brother Nigeria was getting under way.”


“A former military ruler known for his no-nonsense style would appear to have little in common with a reality TV show where contestants engage in attention-seeking behaviour.” “But both subjects were soon generating headlines for the same reason – neither of them were in Nigeria.”


“It turned out that Big Brother was actually being filmed in South Africa – a decision that led Nigeria’s information minister to launch an investigation. While the howls of protests from outraged Big Brother fans soon died down, the clamour over Nigeria’s leader’s extended medical stay in London is not going away.”
Continuing the comparison between the President and the reality TV show, BBC said even Nigerians are relying on pictures posted on Twitter to get updates about their president. “And unlike Big Brother, there are no constant updates – in fact, President Buhari, 74, has not given a single interview since arriving in the UK.


Instead, the Nigerian public is relying on pictures – posted on Twitter – of their leader meeting senior UK officials as proof that he still is alive.” But in contrast, the Special Assistant to President Buhari, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, few days ago forwarded President Buhari’s “thank you”message to Nigerians wherein he said he was even getting better.


BBC also wrote, ” The latest statement issued by the government said there was “no cause for worry” about the president’s health but his medical leave was being extended.” “Nigerians have now heard their leader’s voice for the first time since he left for the UK after a telephone conversation with the governor of the northern state of Kano was played out loud at a prayer meeting.”


“His month-long stay so far has angered some Nigerians after he promised to crack down on “medical tourism” by officials.” “Last June, President Buhari spent nearly two weeks in London receiving treatment for an ear infection. But the bigger issue this time is that officials have repeatedly refused to disclose his illness and are not saying when he will return to Nigeria.”

 It is God's will for us that we never go through life without being helped. The Lord knows that, as men, we are limited in so many ways. He knows that we are not sufficient in ourselves. That is why He makes sure that we are helped always whenever we need it. This is one reason I can't feel helpless. I know I am divinely helped at all times. Jesus said in John 14:16 (NIV) "and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever."
 You don't have to be dismayed or be distressed at anything. God's got you. See, you don't have to look up to the hills like King David did, to get help. Your Helper is rigt there with you. The Holy Spirit, is in your inside and within you. He is everywhere you go. You don't need to scream or press the fire alarm button to get His attention. Just a silent talking with Him gets you His attention immediately.
 You are divinely helped, so you can't be stranded. You can't be overwhelmed even when Satan comes in, because like a torrential flood, the Holy Spirit will take him out, as swiftly as you call. Never feel helpless in any situation. You are divinely helped and your divine Helper pulls things off supernaturally always. You are divinely helped.
 Keep winning daily.

#BBNaija: Gifty apologies to Banky W, Falz for saying she didn’t know them

Evicted Big Brother Naija housemate, Gifty Powers has apologised to two famous Nigerian artistes in the entertainment industry, Banky W and Falz for saying she didn’t know them. She also apologised to Nigerians and the fans of the two artistes, asking them to see whatever happened while in the house as a game.

During the close to one month that Gifty spent in the house before being evicted, she had said that she didn’t know the artistes. However, in her apology on Insagram, she said she was rather misconstrued, saying what she meant was that she had never met them in person.

  South African First, a fiercely nationalist political party founded in December by budding Pretoria politician, Mario Khumalo wants foreign nationals driven out of South Africa and borders sealed to protect the country from crime‚ drugs‚ and prostitution and ensure that only locals benefit from scant economic opportunities.

 The 37-year-old politician said its main mandate was to do away with foreigners who threatened patriotic South Africans’ livelihoods.


"Their tuckshops, hair salons and businesses are crippling our people,"  Mr Khumalo said.
Khumalo is explicit about his anti-foreign sentiments‚ blaming millions of foreign nationals in South Africa for the country's social and economic problems.  He calls himself a nationalist, and said he was merely voicing what most South Africans were thinking and talking about behind closed doors.


“We are not xenophobic but we work in the interest of South Africans. It is about national identity and pride. There is no nationality called African. You are either South African‚ Angolan or Ethiopian. My (identity document) states that I am a South African‚ not African‚” he said.

Khumalo‚ who grew up in the US‚ said according to his research‚ there were more than 13-million foreign nationals living in South Africa. He said there were more than 5-million Zimbabweans‚ 5.6-million Malawians and 3.2-million Nigerians in the country.
“Now add Mozambicans‚ Pakistanis‚ Congolese. It cannot be‚” he said.

He said the presence of so many foreign nationals in South Africa was causing suffering and creating social and economic problems.
 Khumalo said foreign nationals had jobs while locals were unemployed. Foreigners occupied flats in cities and hijacked buildings where they sold drugs and ran brothels.


“You cannot build a nation within a nation. Their businesses do not bank their proceeds. Where is the money going? It will fund terrorism. This is a Trojan Horse. South Africans will wake up one day to find men with assault rifles kidnapping girls on the streets. We have people here in SA who were child soldiers in their countries‚” he said.

Khumalo said the recent spate of violence in Rosettenville in Johannesburg and Pretoria West‚ where people torched houses belonging to foreign nationals‚ was the result of local people not having representatives and not being listened to.
“We need to tackle this issue before the whole country burns‚” he said.

Khumalo said his party would contest the upcoming national election. If it came to power it would give foreign nationals 48 hours to leave and then seal the borders. He said his party had more than 500 members of all races.
 He said the party‚ in collaboration with Concerned Residents of Mamelodi‚ had organised the march to the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Friday to voice its anti-foreign national sentiment.

 Marc Gbaffou‚ chairperson of the African Diaspora Forum‚ said few South Africans harboured hatred for migrants. Africans were welcoming to everyone by nature.

 Dear Reader,
 Many people have written to me many times, asking me to pray that they have a successful marriage and family life. My reply to every such one today, is that, you are the builder and the architect of your family. If your family life turns out to be successful, you have played a part in its success, even though God is the ultimate Builder (Hebrews 3:4). If your family life is not successful, God is not to blame either, because He always keeps His own side of the covenant. Before your family can be built successfully, you have responsibilities to accept and fulfil.
 It is a well known fact that the quality of any establishment is largely dependent on the quality of its leadership. This is also true of any family. Today, we will look at: The main Secret of a True Family Man, in our quest for a successful family.
 A true family man is a man of many parts. He is a good leader, who takes decisions, guarantees the welfare of the home and makes provisions for his family members physically and financially. Besides, he is a spiritual beacon, interceding for each member of the family regularly. However, in this article, we shall be looking at one secret upon which all others hinge, which is love. The secret of the love he has for his family is a major motivation that moves him to fulfil his other responsibilities.
 Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost said: Husbands love your wives, even as Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it (Ephesians 5:25). The instruction to love your own wife, is not a commandment from a denomination; it is the commandment from the Almighty God. There is a world of difference between the words ‘love’ and ‘lust.’ Love is not only just a feeling of affection, it is a force that causes one to give continuously, not only when the woman does good, but also when she appears to be wrong in some aspects. It is the force that makes one desire and work out the best for the other party. However, when one has the intention and attitude of wanting to grab or to get from the other party all the time, that is lust and not love.
 Wherever love is present, it cannot be hidden; it can be seen, it can be read, it can be heard and it can be felt. There can’t be effective leadership without love. However, anyone who draws people to himself, who is touched by their feelings, and shows concern for them, is always an effective leader. As a man, if you want to be in control of your home, you need to use the weapon of love. Love and control are two sides of the same coin. Where there is love, selfishness does not exist!
 Loving as much as Jesus loves the church is the standard. Jesus loved the church when it had no comeliness. While we were yet sinners, Christ laid down His life for us (His Church) (I John 3:16). A true family man, therefore, does not wait for his wife to be perfect, before he loves her, but is unconditionally steadfast in the demonstration of his love for her and his entire family.  Whenever your wife is going wrong, lovingly call her back to order. Love sees danger afar off and warns the loved one of that danger by loving control methods.
 God’s Word says: Love thinketh no evil (1 Corinthians 13:5). Therefore, always resist any evil thought in you concerning your wife or other family members in the mighty name of Jesus. Use the yardstick of, if your wife could see the thoughts that you’re thinking towards her, would you be ashamed? Next, ensure that you express your love verbally. If you can’t tell your wife you love her, who else do you want to tell? I hear it from my husband continually and it creates in me both the ability to submit and a reassuring commitment to make our home a delight always.
 A true family man speaks good and godly words to his wife and children. When he calls his wife a virtuous woman, she longs to live up to that title. As he calls his children gifted and intelligent, they work hard not to disappoint his expectation. He disciplines them when necessary, with a heart full of love and compassion. He interacts (plays) with them, communicates with them, asks them relevant questions, allows them to ask him questions, and answers their questions. He is a good listener and he is always available for his family when they need him. Don’t be too busy to spend time with your family. I heard the daughter of one of the governors say on television that her father still finds time to come to their room and play with them. That gave me a lot of respect for that governor. In spite of his very busy schedule, he still finds time for his daughters.
 Husband, if you really love your wife, you will treat her just like yourself. That is a major secret of family success. A pinch of salt looks so little, but when it is absent in any soup, it is very obvious. Similarly, no matter how great every other thing looks in a home, when love is missing, it will be glaring to the whole world. These are the things that make a home sweet. Dear family man, there is no secret anywhere; obedience to these divine instructions will give you enviable results in your family life.
 Today, I see grace being imparted on you by all the knowledge you have acquired from this article. Your home shall never be the same again. Peace!
 If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour why not do so right now by saying this simple prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today.  I am sinner.  I cannot help myself.  Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your blood.  Deliver me form sin and satan to serve the living God.  I believe You died for me and on the third day, You rose that I might be justified.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.  Make me a child of God today.  Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

The Dubai Police, in coordination with the UAE Ministry of Interior and Oman authorities, have arrested a gang of 10 Africans who robbed Dh3.6 million from a money exchange on Wednesday, February 15. The police also recovered the money within 46 hours. Lt-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, has called on the public to abide by security measures while transporting money.
 He urged the public to approach specialised companies when transporting money.
 He praised the efforts and professionalism of Dubai Police officials in arresting the gang members in less than 48 hours.

 While explaining the details of the case, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri said the African gang met an Arab broker and told him that they have dollars to exchange. The broker went to an exchange office in Diera and came back with three exchange officials to the hotel.

After some time the gang members assaulted the broker and the money transport security officials. They tied up their arms and put plaster on their mouth before fleeing the scene. A cleaner who came to the room found the men and he informed the police.

 The Dubai Police formed a team for investigation and they arrested seven of the gang members within 48 hours. However three gang members had fled to Oman.
 The police via the Ministry of interior coordinated with the Omani officials and arrested rest of the members and recovered the money.

They will be like a tree planted by the water. Jeremiah 17:8
 This was a tree to be envied. Growing on riverfront property, it didn’t have to worry about weather reports, withering temperatures, or an uncertain future. Nourished and cooled by the river, it spent its days lifting its branches to the sun, holding the earth with its roots, cleaning the air with its leaves, and offering shade to all who needed refuge from the sun.
 By contrast, the prophet Jeremiah pointed to a shrub (Jer. 17:6). When the rains stopped and the summer sun turned the ground to dust, the bush shriveled into itself, offering no shade or fruit to anyone.
 Why would the prophet compare a flourishing tree to a withering bush? He wanted his people to recall what had happened since their miraculous rescue from the slave yards of Egypt. For forty years in a wilderness, they lived like a tree planted by a river (2:4–6). Yet in the prosperity of their promised land they had forgotten their own story; they were relying on themselves and on gods of their own making (vv. 7–8), even to the point of going back to Egypt looking for help (42:14).
 So God, through Jeremiah, lovingly urged the forgetful children of Israel, and He urges us, to hope and trust in the Lord and to be like the tree—not the bush.
Prayer: Father, in so many ways You have taught us that You alone can be trusted—even when it seems like You are nowhere to be seen. Please help us to recall today what You have already shown us along the way.
 Let’s remember in good times what we have learned in days of trouble.
Insight:
 Today’s Bible reading contrasts the life of the person devoted to God with the life of one who trusts in his own strength. Jeremiah uses incredibly strong language to differentiate between the two. One is blessed and one is cursed. It’s mind-boggling that we would choose to trust in ourselves instead of God, yet we all choose to do so from time to time. But verse 10 offers hope. It is not what we claim that determines whether we are a tree by the streams or a bush in the desert; it is the Lord who examines and rewards us. Are there any areas of your life you need to ask the Lord to examine?

 One of the pastors I admire so much sang a song with these lyrics "Let the world see Jesus in your eyes, show them love they can't deny, let the world see Jesus in your eyes, Jesus in your eyes." This is a very inspiring song. But you see, as much as we want the world to see the love of Jesus in our eyes, we can't actually give what we don't have. At new birth, you received the love of Jesus in your Spirit, but not yet in your heart, which is where your actions flows from. For the world to see the love of Jesus in your eyes, you need to get that love in your heart.
 Scripture says "for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love" (Romans 5:5 TLB). It is the Holy Spirit that fills our hearts with God's love. And until we get to be more intimate with the Holy Spirit, we won't get to know the depth, height, breadth and length of the love of God, which passes human understanding (Ephesian 3:18).
 We can only know the love of God, that the Holy Spirit brings to us, through fellowship with Him. When we fellowship in prayers, spiritual songs, hymns and with His Word, He pours His love into us. When we do this, we are filled with His love and that is when we can be able to show the world what the love of God is. What do we need to do now? Let's put more intent, purpose, and passion into our fellowship with God's Spirit. He really wants to pour out God's love into our heart so we can share it with the world.

The story behind Audu Maikori's arrest

President of Chocolate City Group, Audu Maikori, has receieved serious backlash on social media following his revelations on the continuous killings of Christians in Southern Kaduna.
 Last week, he revealed that 6 students of Kaduna State College of Education were killed by Fulani Herdmen, something the school denied which brough about the back lash. Maikori released a statement last night stating his stand on the matter. Read after the details below...





Dear Fellow Nigerians,
You may be aware of the ongoing engagement on social media where two main allegations were made against me, the first was about my posting fake pictures on social media about the Southern Kaduna killings in my article titled “Not a very merry Christmas for the people of Southern Kaduna” and the second being the killing of Simon my driver’s younger brother James Joseph a 26 year old student of the College of Education Gidan Waya, Kaduna.
Let me address the first matter, the tweet in question did have a picture which was least gory of the ones sent to me but in all honesty I didn’t know the picture was an internet picture, because I was sent dozens of pictures to select from.
To be clear the picture in question was meant to draw the attention of people to the main post, which is on my Facebook page –all of the pictures in the main post are actual pictures of the Southern Kaduna Killings. Shortly after posting the pictures, several parents called me and asked that I remove the gory ones because of children who may come across it on my timeline-which I did.
So I sincerely apologize for posting a picture, which I erroneously believed to have been original and many of us are guilty of such mistakes when you have a barrage of pictures to chose from. Nevertheless I have attached real and verified pictures of the carnage in Southern Kaduna, which are definitely gorier than the one I erroneously posted- I apologize as the pictures will be quite graphic but I feel I there is a need to present all the facts. On the second matter, I have released a video of my driver recounting what transpired. This video was recorded on the morning of the 23rd of January 2017, thereafter I tweeted the facts as conveyed to me while simultaneously making arrangements for my driver to travel the following day for his brothers burial. I sent messages of this occurrence to Senator Laah Danjuma, Sunny Katung the representative from my constituency and several other Southern Kaduna leaders to alert them of what had transpired even before I tweeted it. The story was picked and published by the Vanguard newspaper on the morning of the 24th of January2017.
Yesterday the 26th of January 2017, the internet went agog with news that the story was false and even produced a letter which ostensibly was from the College of Education itself purporting that no students were killed, the school wasn’t in session and that the Vanguard had peddled and perpetrated false news. The letter is curious on three main points:
Firstly, the article by the Vanguard was published on the 24rd of January 2017, yet the letter from the school was written and dated the 23rd of January 2017! Meaning they preempted the Vanguard story a whole 24hrs before it went live!
The second point is the level of efficiency of the College of Education in being able to carry out a census of all its students, even though the school was on break and (on the very same day the matter was reported to them), they were still able to ascertain that no student was killed. Please note that my driver only heard of his brother’s death the previous night.
Lastly, The letter was not signed and the letter has no reference number meaning that any decent typist in a business centre could have written same- this is what I suspect happened here. To what end? To discredit me as the leading voice that is speaking up against the pogrom in Kaduna.
This matter brings to fore the real situation in our county, that government is so besotted with keeping up appearances that they don’t mind that human beings are being degraded and killed on the daily. Even if only one person was killed, shouldn’t we all be concerned? Shouldn’t we feel outraged? Shouldn’t we be seeking solutions to end it once and for all?
Since then untoward characters have deployed the usual twitter overlords to damage and tarnish my reputation by suggesting that I was paid to create chaos with my advocacy on the Southern Kaduna killings. They alleged that I am doing this for my selfish reasons and for my gain, but the question is what is this gain? I am a son of Kaduna with substantial investments in the state, why would I deliberately stoke the flames of discord, which would indirectly place my family and business at risk?
KADUNA MEDIA CITY/KDSG ETC/SKES
 Prior to this recent incident, I have had a fairly good relationship with the Governor of Kaduna himself and his team, knowing him to be a fair and hospitable man. Over the past year I have worked closely with his team on projects aimed at creating jobs and opportunities for the people of Kaduna State. For instance, I was part of the Kaduna Economic and Investment forum in 2016 and spoke at one of their panels about investment opportunities in the state. In October 2016, the Kaduna State Executive Council approved our proposed Kaduna Creative and Media City- probably the first of its kind in Africa, which is targeted to create over 10,000 jobs for the people of the state over five years through a PPP model.
On the 1st of December 2016, I chaired a team that organized the first ever Southern Kaduna Economic Summit, which held in Sabo, Kaduna State and the KDSG as usual was very supportive. The Deputy Governor was represented by his Chief of Staff; The Economic adviser to the Governor attended, Two commissioners, and top management including the SA Media to the Governor attended. In the summit we enlightened people of the various opportunities in agriculture, solid minerals and enterprise being promoted by the government and the crucial role of PPP in developing Kaduna.
The point of the above is to state that I have never had any personal or business issues with the Governor or his team. So if anyone is of the belief that I am doing this for some selfish reason, they should note that I have much more to lose than gain by calling out the government over its failure to secure the lives of my people. I chose to speak out so we could draw the attention of the government to the dire situation.
So contrary to what is being said, I had/have a lot to lose both personally and financially by speaking up about the crises instead of keeping quiet like most people did. But I couldn’t be quiet; I couldn’t bear to see the suffering that the people were going through, so after attending several meetings and consultations, I realized that there was almost intentional plan to suppress the carnage going on in Southern Kaduna. Why am I writing this? Because when Maryam Abubakar the Special Adviser to the Governor tweeted this morning that I “ tell lies for my selfish reason” I was taken aback considering she was part and parcel of all negotiations we had in respect of the media city and if I was a liar I wouldn’t have been chosen to partner with the state government on such a very important project that is meant for the betterment of the people of the state.
Prior to this some people had called to warn me that the government was upset about my statements and I had shrugged it off because as far as I knew the Governor /government based on our relationship -would simply consider my statements as that of a concerned citizen trying to bring attention to a brewing matter and not view me as a trouble maker. In my way I was trying to help. But clearly , this was misconstrued to mean I was fighting against the KDSG. So interestingly, instead of my Fulani brothers to be at the lead of my attack – it was social media paid hands from South west that chose to attack me instead of attacking the matter of the deaths of hundreds of people.
This point is key, we are talking about hundreds of deaths and thousands of displaced citizens while the anti Audu campaign was soley worried about one picture that they claimed was on the internet. Has it come to this Nigeria? That we no longer care about our brothers and sisters but rather play politics with everything inspite of the fact that we are suffering? That our people both Fulani and from Southern Kaduna are dying?
Finally, I recently started a campaign called #RebuildingSouthernKadunaand my intention was clear; I wanted us to move on from the hate and begin to seek peace. Indeed I had also reached out to a few Fulani brothers to broker a meeting to see how we can resume peace talks to help us move from the rhetoric of killings to peace, to move from counting how many houses were razed to how many new roofs we can raise, from pointing accusatory fingers at each other to shaking hands with one another and this is the spirit we need right now.
I never quite understood that my heartfelt intentions were being read as political and capable of destabilizing the government. I have no regrets whatsoever, and where I have erred I apologize but I will not stop speaking my truth, I will not stop speaking up for people who do not have a voice.
Lets us not be distracted with the noise, people are being killed everyday and we still call on the government to do their constitutional duty of protecting lives and security.

Fellow Nigerians, let me warn quickly that a new circus has come to town and there is a theatre of the absurd ongoing in the city of London. The patrons are very important personalities from Nigeria who have turned the supposed illness of our dear President Muhammadu Buhari into a stage play. At the rate these medical tourists are going, Nigeria may be empty of all its fat cats as they jostle to pay obeisance lest anyone accuses them of nonchalance and of plotting against the President or wishing him dead. Yes, we can be that petty in this clime.
When President Buhari suddenly left our shores, several weeks ago, he did what our late President, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua failed to do which was to send a simple letter to the National Assembly about his intention to go on vacation or for medical treatment, or whatever, and hand over authority to his Vice President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. At least, it shows President Buhari had learnt a useful lesson from the experience of his brother and we must praise God for little mercies. What else could he have done? I think he should have improved on this uncommon performance by telling Nigerians he’s been battling with some debilitating ailment for some time which necessitated his having to travel regularly and sometimes suddenly. For God’s sake, it is not a crime to fall sick. We all do, in various degrees, from time to time. At over 70 years on the surface of this earth, no one would expect President Buhari to be in the most perfect state of health. It is a miracle that he survived the harrowing vicissitudes of life after he was thrown into a dungeon in 1985 during the military coup that toppled his dictatorship. He also had to contest some bloody elections a record four times before fortune smiled at him. Naturally, all of these events would have combined to conspire against his health.
So why should he be ashamed of telling the world that his health is failing and that he would have to attend to it as frequently as possible? No one needs to consult a doctor or a prophet to know our President is not very well at this moment and that he deserves our understanding and prayers. Even if we thought otherwise, his London visitors have virtually confirmed our worst fears. Aso Rock media gurus who have been regaling us with tales of how well and fit the President is should have worked harder on their powerful friends to stay in Nigeria and wait to flood the airport whenever it pleases God to bring him back in one piece to Nigeria. Rushing to London to mark register is absolutely unnecessary and a total waste of scarce resources. The London visitors have wittingly or inadvertently attracted more attention to the President’s frailty.
I have taken time to study some of the pictures that have emerged from the President’s shrine in London and most of them did not do justice to whatever it is some people are trying to cover up by fire by force. The pictures have shown clearly why the President cannot just yank himself off from London and return home pronto as his tedious job demands. It is very obvious that the President is no longer in London of his own free volition, even if he ever was at some point. Someone should please beg the Good Samaritans to allow the President receive his medical treatment in peace and hopefully recuperate handsomely and adequately. Only his immediate family should be allowed access to him at this moment. The visitors actually make it look like they are on an espionage mission to ascertain the true state of the President’s health in order to plot, position and manipulate what seems an impending power game, sooner or later. At the very best of intentions, the visits represent a free photo opportunity for the new and sudden emergency friends of Buhari.
Where’s the coterie of acolytes who fell over themselves to display unsolicited affection when the President was sick and flown to Saudi Arabia? If President Buhari is in perfect condition, as his ubiquitous media handlers want us to believe, they should allow him enjoy his vacation and return home when he pleases instead of fighting over the pages of newspapers and the airwaves singing discordant notes on how he may arrive today or tomorrow or claiming that his return is delayed by the uncompleted servicing of the Presidential jet when there is more than one such jet and, in any case, it is not a crime to charter a private jet on this one occasion, or beg one of his wealthy party members or friends to send a comfortable plane to pick him up and return him home in perfect comfort. I’m sure they would be too happy and proud to do him that favour. Also, I know it is easier for the NTA to do a regular live broadcast from London whenever our President misses home to assure us there is no cause for alarm. The President and his team seem to forget the importance and pre-eminence of the ordinary Nigerian citizen in all this debacle. They elected the President. He is answerable to them. It is to them he needs to turn to in order to allay their fears about his health and rumoured death. He can do this by even a one minute video broadcast.
What we are witnessing right now is a negation of what Buhari ever stood for. Our President was known to be a man of very modest means and humble existence. His attraction during the campaigns and what made him readily sellable to majority of Nigerians was the abhorrence of ostentatious living as well as adherence to a disciplined and Spartan life. Many observers are wondering what has gone wrong that our President seems to have become totally oblivious to happenings around him. Nigerians trusted and still trust President Buhari. He should not let his supporters lead him astray and betray that trust. He must continue to show that he knows that he is accountable to the people first and foremost and the only way to do this is to come clean about his state of health and when his doctors say he can return, whether now or later.
This is certainly not the loud change we promised Nigerians two years ago. There is defalcation, decay and decadence everywhere. Budgets are still being padded left right and centre. Atrocious sums are apparently being spent on frivolities while Nigerian workers are gnashing their teeth everywhere. Our airports remain as hopeless as ever, nearly two years into the life of this government. We are still dishing out endless excuses about why provision of adequate electricity supply has remained rocket science in Nigeria. Government officials continue to run abroad for medicals in flagrant disobedience of instructions to stay at home. The voodoo economists have not been able to arrest the freefall of the naira against the American dollar. The list of woes is ad infinitum. This is DEFINITELY not what we assured our people when we went on the blistering attacks against President Goodluck Jonathan and his carpetbaggers.
We knew the journey won’t be easy but didn’t expect it to be this bad. There are some basic things that should have been easily fixed in one year of active governance. We should have put elevators and escalators in our airports. The jetways at Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos should have been modernised and upgraded. The odoriferous washrooms and the stench that oozes and welcomes citizens and visitors to Nigeria should have been permanently sanitised and deodorised. There is no basis for arguing these facts. Some of those saddled with the task of helping Buhari achieve his lofty dreams have failed the man and their country, and even God. I picked on those simple and visible projects in order to show the hopelessness of our situation despite the loquacious change we bandied two years ago. If I were to embark on more important things, I would weep uncontrollably and probably not complete this piece, especially, as I crisscross many poorer and less endowed African countries and marvel at their inspiring productivity. It is that bad! Are we to blame Jonathan again for the miserable states of our airports and the pitiable conditions of our infrastructure?
The solution is not farfetched as I have preached for many years. A nation that sacrifices its best brains on the altar of ethnic balancing, religious sensitivity, greed and avarice, nepotism and jingoism can never prosper. What we need to do urgently is to reverse the dangerous drift towards perdition. We all know the solution to our calamitous problems but are too timid and irrational to take on our challenges. We are surrounded by seat-warmers and unrepentant gamblers who treat our dear beloved country like one big casino.
Only God can rescue us, if it is not too late.

5 Causes and Remedies for Back Pain

 It is fortunate that episodes of back pain heal with time. However, back pain can be a temporary but recurrent pain that is indeed a very uncomfortable occurrence. It has a way of interfering with your daily routine, aside making you very uncomfortable. It is important to identify the causes of back pain and know the remedies to help deal with it.  To help you, Jumia Travel shares 5 causes and remedies for back pain.
Poor Posture
 This is one of the major causes of upper and lower back pain. This pain usually occurs along with neck pain or shoulder pain. Poor posture puts on strain on sensitized muscles and soft tissues leading to increased tension in the muscles which most times results in pain.
Remedy: The simple remedy for this is to correct your sitting and standing posture to help alleviate some of the muscle tension causing you back pain. Avoid slouching or hunching your back when sitting. Also try to do exercises that strengthen your core muscles, buttock muscles, check muscles, neck muscles, rear-shoulder muscles and back extensions (exercises like bridges, back extensions, side-lying stretches, planks etc.), this will help improve your posture.
 When standing, balance your weight evenly on both feet (don’t lean on one leg), keep your shoulders and back relaxed, pull in your abdomen, keep your feet apart and straight but knees relaxed, and try not to tilt your head forward, backward or sideways.
Strenuous Physical Work and Exercise
 Jobs that involve lifting, pushing, pulling or twisting with the low back can cause injury and back pain. These jobs especially affect the lower back and cause lower back pain.
 Also, there are some physical exercises that contribute to back pains. Exercises like the ‘touch-your-toes’ hamstring stretch, hurdler’s stretch, leg raises, sit-ups, crunches and high impact aerobic exercises.
Remedy: For physically strenuous jobs, try to avoid heavy lifting, pushing, pulling or twisting your low back as much as you can. If you must do heavy lifting try to bend your legs and keep your back straight when lifting something heavy. Also, you should often do exercises to stretch and strengthen your core, back, neck, shoulder and buttock muscles.
 For strenuous exercises, avoid strenuous physical exercises like the ones mentioned above and swap them for more back-friendly exercises like side-lying stretches, reverse curl-ups, swimming, walking etc.
Mentally Stressful Work
 Mentally stressful work tends to cause stress and anxiety which are two of the most common causes of back pain. Stress and anxiety drastically increase muscle tension, which in turn increases pain. The back contains a variety of muscles that tense during stress and anxiety, which increases pain and leads to a mild or severe back pain in the upper and lower back.
 In addition to this, anxiety and stress also cause changes in behaviors that lead to back pain. These include changes in posture (there is a tendency to slouch more, hunch your back etc.), inactivity (there is the tendency of decreased healthy physical activity and mobility) and hypersensitivity (stress and anxiety tends to make you more sensitive to physical sensations which makes them feel more severe and harder to ignore).
 Remedy: Stretching your muscles regularly, watching your posture, occasional massages, exercising and being mobile can help reduce stress or anxiety-related pains in your back. But for a more permanent treatment, you should learn ways to cope with stress and anxiety. This can be done by identifying your stressors and what triggers your stress and anxiety, then finding ways to avoid it if you can or accept and adapt to it if you can’t. Taking breaks can also help, relaxation and meditation exercises also included. Try to eat a balanced diet, sleep well and limit caffeine or alcohol.
Pregnancy
 During a healthy pregnancy, women usually gain between 25 to 35 pounds which the spine has to support. This can lead to lower back pain for most women during pregnancy. Also, the weight of the baby and uterus puts pressure on blood vessels and nerves in the pelvis and back, which in turn increases pain and leads to back pain. In addition to these, posture changes, hormone changes, muscle separation and stress during pregnancy can also contribute to back pain during pregnancy.
Remedy: The good thing is that the back pain experienced during pregnancy gradually eases before birth, however things like safe exercises for pregnant women, applying heat and cold compress to your back at intervals, working on improving your posture during pregnancy, avoiding high-heeled shoes, and not sleeping on your back can help treat and alleviate the back pain.
Sedentary Lifestyle
 A sedentary lifestyle tends to cause increased stiffness and weakened muscles which can cause or worsen back pain. Being sedentary keeps you inactive and makes you miss out on the benefits of regular physical activity which helps to nourish spinal discs, soft tissues and ligaments.
Remedy: Perform regular strengthening exercises, stretching and low-impact aerobic exercises for the muscle of the back and abdomen to help provide better support for your spine. Move around more and engage in healthy physical activities.

Buhari undergoes penis surgery

Nine-month-old Buhari Muhammad, whose genital was cut off by his step-mother, has undergone first corrective surgery at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Bida, Niger. Mrs Mariam Kolo, the Director-General of the state Child Rights Protection Agency, made this known in an interview with newsmen in Minna on Friday.

Kolo told journalists that the surgery was part of the series of operations that the boy would undergo. “He was operated upon by four neurologists and he is responding to treatment. “Several other tests will still be conducted to prepare him for the next operation,’’ Kolo said. Newsmen recall that Muhammad’s genital was cut off by his 17-year-old step mother, Bara’atu Muhammad, when he was barely a month old. The incident occurred in Dafe community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger in June 2016. The step-mother had confessed that she took the action because she was jealous and that she also wanted to get back at the victim’s mother, whom, she claimed was always insulting her. Muhammad was subsequently remanded in Minna prison. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, told journalists that the suspect was still in Minna Prison, pending the conclusion of investigations. “Under the Police Criminal Law, the suspect is an adult, she is above seven years; therefore, she can be convicted and hanged for the offence,” Elkana said.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  - John 15:4
 In John 15, the relationship between Christ and us believers, is likened to the relationship between the vine and its branches. This has various implications We will however examine just one, which is the branch - which is part of the tree, that has a place in the tree and cannot be without the tree.
 To have a place in something means to belong to it, or with it. Upon surrender of our lives to Him, He takes us out of the world, and engrafts us into Himself (Colossians 1:21). By this act, we become a part of Him. This means we receive nutrients from Him (Psalms 121:2). To this effect we are a part of Christ, and are to function as Him. Isn't it great?
 Functioning as Christ...and even better, because He said in John 14:12, "verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." Not only is there a place for you in the Master, you also get to function in greater ways through Him. Hallelujah!

One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see! John 9:25
 Noah Purifoy began his work as an “assemblage” artist with three tons of rubble salvaged from the 1965 riots in the Watts area of Los Angeles. From broken bicycle wheels and bowling balls to discarded tires and damaged TV sets—things no longer usable—he and a colleague created sculptures that conveyed a powerful message about people being treated as “throw-aways” in modern society. One journalist referred to Mr. Purifoy as “the junkyard genius.”
In Jesus’s time, many people considered those with diseases and physical problems as sinners being punished by God. They were shunned and ignored. But when Jesus and His disciples encountered a man born blind, the Lord said his condition was not the result of sin, but an occasion to see the power of God. “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5). When the blind man followed Jesus’s instructions, he was able to see.
 When the religious authorities questioned the man, he replied simply, “One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” (v. 25).
 Jesus is still the greatest “junkyard genius” in our world. We are all damaged by sin, but He takes our broken lives and shapes us into His new creations.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You today for Your amazing grace!
 Jesus is the restorer of life.
 Insight:
 Have you ever felt as though you saw no purpose to your life, couldn’t see your way forward, and were not even sure there is a God willing or able to give you light at the end of the tunnel? John wrote his gospel to proclaim the life and light that troubled people like us long for (John 1:1–5). John found many reasons to believe that Jesus really is the light of the world: “These [miraculous signs] are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).

Court Orders The Forfeiture Of Andrew Yakubu's $9.8m To FG

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano presided over by Justice Zainab B. Abubakar today ordered the forfeiture of the sum of $9,772,00 and £74,000 recovered from a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr Andrew Yakubu to the Federal Government.

According to a statement by the EFCC, the order was sequel to an application by the EFCC seeking an interim forfeiture of the recovered money to the Federal Government.

The presiding Judge held that the recovered sum of $9, 772,000 which is now in the custody of the EFCC be forfeited to the Federal Government.

Just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead. Romans 5:21 NLT
 Mom noticed four-year-old Elias as he scurried away from the newborn kittens. She had told him not to touch them. “Did you touch the kitties, Elias?” she asked.
“No!” he said earnestly. So Mom had another question: “Were they soft?”
 “Yes,” he volunteered, “and the black one mewed.”
With a toddler, we smile at such duplicity. But Elias’s disobedience underscores our human condition. No one has to teach a four-year-old to lie. “For I was born a sinner,” wrote David in his classic confession, “yes, from the moment my mother conceived me” (Ps. 51:5 nlt). The apostle Paul said: “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned” (Rom. 5:12 nlt). That depressing news applies equally to kings, four-year-olds, and you and me.
 But there’s plenty of hope! “God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were,” wrote Paul. “But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant” (Rom. 5:20 nlt).
 God is not waiting for us to blow it so He can pounce on us. He is in the business of grace, forgiveness, and restoration. We need only recognize that our sin is neither cute nor excusable and come to Him in faith and repentance.
Prayer: Father, be merciful to me, a sinner.
 There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  Romans 8:1
