All around Lagos, long queues have taken over as most petrol stations
have to deal with customers in a frenzy. Some other stations, however,
have unceremoniously closed shop, reinforcing the omen that a fuel
scarcity is coming.
However, the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, NNPC, Mr. Ohi
Alegbe has on Tuesday said that the queues are due to panic-buying
because of a reduced truckload of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Apapa
depots due to construction gridlocks in the areas.
NNPC has urged the marketers affected by the road construction to load
their goods from the NNPC inland depot in Mosimi to support what it
described as the 'zero tolerance to fuel queues' policy across the
country.
