In an apparent moves to douse tension emanated from missing budget, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday 12 January, 2016 stormed the Presidential Villa to hold a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu over the sudden disappearance of the 2016 Budget from the National Assembly.
Saraki, who came out from the President’s office about 30 minutes after his arrival, declined to speak to press men on the allegedly missing 2016 Budget proposal.
When Journalists asked about the suspicious disappearance of the Budget, Saraki refused to comment, but exclaimed “Ha, ha, ha,” and jumped into his vehicle.
Saraki’s vehicle immediately speed off from the forecourt of the Presidential Villa without him clearing the air on the Budget controversy.
The news of the missing budget is coming less than 24 hours after Buhari had an expanded meeting with leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the presidential Villa on Monday 11th January, 2016.
However, top chieftains of the party were not present during the meeting, hence signifying palpable tension in the party.
The National Assembly is expected to begin work on Tuesday, on the Budget proposal which was presented to the lawmakers by President Buhari on December 22 last year.
