AN OPEN LETTER TO MY FELLOW NIGERIAN YOUTHS

AN OPEN LETTER TO MY FELLOW NIGERIAN YOUTHS.
Dear Nigerian Youths,
Wikipedia defined politics as a process of making decision applying to all members of each group, more narrowly it defines politics as achieving and exercising positions of governance, organized control over a human community particularly a state
With these definitions of politics we see the great importance of politics, unfortunately the Nigerian youth of today do not participate in Nigerian politics, by participation, they are not involved in  the whole process of politics as they only participate in the ballot processes.
I strongly believe that not enough is done for the youths of today to get involved fully in politics, the youths should be allowed more access to politics to shape the future of Nigeria.
Inaccessibility although will not be a barrier if today youths brace up enough to their responsibility.
In Nigeria today, UNDP once supported youth based CSO coalition to actively participate in the constitution review process including submission of memorandum to constitution review committee of the National Assembly, I remember a forum formed ahead of the then 2015 election that cut across many political parties called Nigerian Youth inter party forum.
This forum was used to deliberate on issues of common interest and challenges affecting the expansion of frontiers for youth political participation.
Today’s youths spend valuable time on flimsy things, singing praises of corrupt  leaders and wasting away in whatnots.
What has happened to the good example people like late Obafemi  Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikwe and former president Yakubu Gowon laid during the days of their youths.

Alas, My fellow Nigerian youths the time has come for us to look back and take the right steps towards salvaging this country from the present corrupt leaders who has been feeding fat on our future for the sake of our born/unborn children, it is not to late for us to be part of the whole governing process, though the challenges may be harsh but with great doggedness and determination we will get there.
I implore us to live to our responsibilities as youths with a difference.
Thank for reading, God bless the Federal Republic Nigeria.
