Stop The Mudslinging And Answer These: APC Asks PDP Tough Questions

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged the PDP to tell Nigerians how it plans to move from the near zero governance of the past six years of the Jonathan Administration to good and purposeful governance, instead of engaging in perpetual and tiring mudslinging.

”We believe that elections should be about issues that will be beneficial to the electorate, not about throwing everything but the kitchen sink at a particular candidate simply because of his soaring acceptability.

”Therefore, it is time for the PDP to end the muckraking and tell Nigerians how it plans to tackle the worsening insecurity in the land,.the collapsing national currency, with the US dollar now exchanging for 215 Naira, massive unemployment, especially among the youth, decayed infrastructure and the unprecedented corruption under President Jonathan’s watch,” the party said in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

The University of Port Harcourt has responded to the allegations that President Godluck Jonathan did not finish his doctorate degree program at the university.

Dr. William Wodi, Deputy Registrar (Information) of the university said that President Jonathan concluded his first degree, Masters and Ph.D in the same institution.

He said this in a statement forwarded to the PUNCH newspaper.

He noted that Jonathan was one of 422 students who was admitted in 1977 to the Department of Zoology, now named Animal and Environmental Science.

Hosts Equatorial Guinea and Congo have become the first two teams to qualify for the quarterfinals of the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament.

In the other way round, both Burkina Faso and Gabon became the first two countries to exit the competition.

Kerry made this statement at a news conference in Lagos, shortly after meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan and Major General Mohammed Buhari.
He urged all Nigerians to help make the elections free, fair and credible.

This Love Story Is Complicated! Not Even The 32 Years Age Difference Could Separate Them

Smiles... white peeps with their way of life. This relationship is complicated, but they claim it's okay because it's true love. Ebony, met Peter when she was still dating the father of her two boys, John who happens to be Peter’s wife’s son. Before they could say jack, Ebony and Peter started sleeping together because they couldn't take their eyes off each other.

They separated for a while and Ebony went to jail, while Peter divorced his wife Judy in the process. Soon as she got out of jail, they headed to the registry and tied the knot.

Jonathan Visits Winners, As Oyedepo Declares Support For Him

President Goodluck Jonathan today visited the Headquarters of Winners Chapel International in Ota and everyone one has been talking of the visit. There is a harrowing story told by Adekoya Boladale, which needs to be brought to the attention of Nigerians, especially the people of the South-West. In the middle of the night of 4th January, 1984, heavily armed men of the Strike Force of the Nigerian army invaded the Lagos home of Chief Olu Awotesu, the Minister of State for Agriculture. This military operation had one design, to put the minister under arrest.

Barely two years after popular Nigerian actress, Toyin Aihmaku, tied the knots with her actor hubby, Niyi Johnson, at the Ikoyi Registry in Lagos, the pair are said to have parted ways.

The news, which filtered in on Saturday, came as a rude shock to fans of the fun-loving couple known for displaying affection for each other on social media.

The question on the lips of many at the moment is what could have gone wrong within three weeks? This is because three weeks ago, Johnson posted picture of him and wife’s with the caption, “It all began here-our first picture to go viral. This year, fight tirelessly until glory is attained, it’s a year of testimony and success will be ours in all spheres. Less I forget vote for Adeniyi Johnson in Maya Awards as the Actor of the year and Alakada as the movie of year. Love you plenty.”

In the same vein, Aihmaku, had also taken to Instagram around the same time, to shower praises on her husband for buying her a pair of shoe and jewelry.

Campaign Hit And Miss: The Mess That Is The Buhari Certificate Saga

Despite all pretensions to the contrary, it’s squeaky bum time for the Teflon General and his many supporters. Two weeks into the campaign, the talking point is not the highly-promoted idea of a clueless President Goodluck Jonathan or his supposed lack of achievements (which the APC had hoped to make the issue in the campaign), but the controversy surrounding General Muhammadu Buhari’s supposed lack of academic certificates to constitutionally and lawfully qualify him to contest for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Of course, politics is no respecter of reputations (real or forged), but each time you hear Muhammadu Buhari talk or respond to legitimate queries by Nigerians and the press on the issue of his certificates, you can’t help but think he’s shell-shocked by the fact that people continue to raise questions and make legitimate inferences from this about his character, qualifications and the quality of change he proposes. Almost always responding irritably to all questions in relation to the matter, he constantly veers off to accuse the PDP of desperation on one hand, while pleading desperately that we move on to discuss insecurity and corruption (his favourite subjects at his hypocritical best) on the other. Yet, what all that tells us is the state of play. The general’s ass is on fire and all is not well in his paradise! But, the PDP leaders themselves have not been the originators of his troubles. Ordinary Nigerians are the ones asking the questions and the PDP folks have merely joined the bandwagon and sometimes played cheerleaders for these questioning citizens, obviously because of the potential political benefit to them. After all, no one should be looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Inspirational or Tacky? Davido’s Hypeman Special Spesh Gets Backlash over Money Shots

Davido’s hypeman, Special Spesh has gotten quite a lot of backlash in the past few weeks for posting pictures on Instagram where he can be seen with bundles of money or a few notes of money.

Not a good time at all for Japanese government as ISIS militants released a video showing the decapitated body of one of the Japanese security contractors they kidnapped. ISIS demanded $200m for Haruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto earlier this week and when Japanese government called their bluff, they killed one of the men, and said the other will also be beheaded if Japan doesn't meet their demands.
In the recording, a voice claiming to be that of Kenji Goto, claimed his fellow captive, Haruna Yukawa, has been killed and blamed his the death on Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. He said he will be killed next if ISIS demand is not met. ISIS said they're no longer interested in the money, now they want the release of a failed female suicide. It was yet another day of 1-1 draws at the ongoing 2015 African Nations Cup tournament in Equatorial Guinea, with all the games in group D following that same pattern.

There is nothing separating the four teams of the group as they are all tied on two points apiece with none of them having a superior over the other.

In their first games, they all played out a 1-1 draw, replicating that as well in their second games played on Saturday.

Makurdi -- Port Harcourt Rail Line Begins Operation

As good development continue to envelope Nigeria - A rail line connecting Makurdi to Port Harcourt has become operational, according to Channels.

This adds to the number of rail lines that the Nigerian government has resuscitated in the last few years, Vice President Namadi Sambo said while commissioning the rail line in Makurdi.

He said the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration would ensure the completion of another line, the Port Harcourt through Enugu-Makurdi to Kaduna line, before the end of President Jonathan’s administration.

External forces stalled Chibok girls rescue – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has blamed the non-rescue of the abducted Chibok girls on external forces, promising that his administration would do everything possible to end the Boko Haram insurgency in a matter of months.
The president spoke, yesterday, at the palace of the Shehu of Borno where he had gone to pay homage to the traditional ruler.
According to him, after ending the Boko Haram insurgency, his administration would rebuild the affected areas.
Jonathan stated that, with the use of initiatives like Victim Support Fund, Presidential Initiative for North-east and Safe School Initiative as well as increased budgetary allocation, his administration will rebuild and redesign Borno State in such a way that children will have access to education and better future.

Shocking: Egyptian female socialist activist is gunned down in the street by police during demonstrations

So sad......A female demonstrator (pictured) was killed in clashes with Egyptian police during a protest in central Cairo today January 24th on the eve of the anniversary of the 2011 uprising against Hosni Mubarak. A health ministry spokesman said Shaima al-Sabbagh died of birdshot wounds, which fellow protesters said were fired by police to disperse the march.
