Ray J's new interview with Heat magazine is causing a whole new kind of storm online. In the interview, he tried to avoid talking about his infamous sex  tape Kim Kardashian but couldn't resist the urge and said:

“I only did my part in making her famous'.
When asked if the reality star was obsessed with fame, he replied saying:
“As a man, I tried to play my part in the situation. If you’re intelligent, you can read between the lines.”

Wonder they say shall never end as many citizens are not smiling with BLACKFAFCE at all.
Nigerian singer, Blackface has incurred the wrath of Nigerians on social media after branding the planned nationwide protest spearheaded by his former music mate, 2face, ‘useless’.

The singer took to his social media page to react to the planned nationwide protest themed ‘Enough Is Enough’ which was earlier scheduled for February 5th but has since been rescheduled to the 6th of February.

In reaction, Blackface urged Nigerians to disregard the planned protest calling it useless and baseless. He added that Nigerians should be careful of being used by politicians.

Kenneth Copeland’s daily devotional February 1, 2017 - Hit Him With the Rock

Topic: Hit Him With the Rock [Wednesday February 1, 2017]
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. - Psalm 23:1-2

Have you ever thought about David and wondered how a shepherd boy could become a man after God's own heart—a man so strong in spirit that God chose him to be king of Israel? I have.
In fact, I asked God about it, and He showed me that revelation was what turned David into such a spiritual powerhouse—revelation that came to him through hours of thinking about the things of God. I imagine the day he wrote Psalm 23 he was just sitting and singing praises to God and meditating on His goodness. Just fellowshipping with Him when suddenly the anointing of the Lord came upon him and he said, "The Lord is my Shepherd!"
Suddenly he thought about the sheep he watched over as a boy, I faced death for those sheep. I led them where pastures were green and waters were cool, clean, deep, and peaceful. He kept on meditating on that until it started to thrill him. When the lion and the bear came, didn't He prepare a table before me in the presence of those enemies? He gave me victory. My God! My God will fight for me. The Lord is my Shepherd! I shall not want!
That revelation welled up in David so strong that the devil couldn't beat it out of him. So when Goliath tried to make a fool out of Israel, David went after him. Goliath was able to scare off everyone else, but he couldn't shake David because he had a revelation inside him that said, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for my God is with me. That revelation enabled David to say, "I come against you in the name of the Lord of Hosts" and to send a rock sailing into that giant's brain.
Is the devil out to destroy you? Do what David did. Meditate on God and His Word. Sing praises to your King. Fellowship with Him until the revelation of who He is in you starts to thrill your soul. Then tell the devil, "You're not going to kill me. The Lord is my Shepherd!" Hit him with the rock of revelation knowledge, and you'll knock him flat every time.

Miyonse, Soma And Efe Up For Eviction This Week On Big Brother Naija (pics)

In an interesting show where entertainment and dexterity is been rewarded and
after a week of excitement and a mock eviction which shook the housemates and brought some of them to tears, Big Brother Naija will witness it's first real eviction come Sunday, February 5.

The housemate with the least number of votes will be evicted from the house. Last night, the first live nomination happened on the show.

See their faces below

THE TRAVAILS OF APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEMAN AND THE INCITING WORDS OF THE SULTAN OF SOKOTO (PART 1)

Nothing sums up the dangerous way in which the DSS is handling the Apostle Johnson Suleman affair better than the words of the Southern Kaduna-based Pastor Owojaye Matthew. He said,
"you want to arrest Christian clergymen who asked Christians to defend themselves against killer FULANI Herdsmen while you allow hundreds of foreign FULANI herdsmen invading Nigeria to kill and maim CHRISTIANS and take over their lands! DSS, tread softly! Do not play into the hands of chaos! We are waiting for DSS to arrest the kill and go FULANI herdsmen!"
The Buhari administration is literally playing Russian roullete with this matter. They are playing with fire and it may well end up burning them badly and consumming the whole of Nigeria. They are sitting on a keg of gunpowder and it may well end up blowing up in their faces.
Owojaiye's point is as pertinent as it is clear. His counsel to the DSS is unassailable and timely.
They would do well to take his advice, leave Suleman alone and, instead of harrasing him, go after those who commit mass murder, ethnic cleansing and genocide against northern Christians at the drop of a hat and those who encourage, incite and pay them to do it.

THE TRAVAILS OF APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEMAN AND THE INCITING WORDS OF THE SULTAN OF SOKOTO (Part 2)

President Donald J. Trump summed it up rather well when he said, in reference to the Islamist terrorists and those that derive joy from committing genocide against Christians, that
"They are sneaky dirty rats. They blow up people in a shopping centres and they blow up people in a church".
He went on to say, "We are fighting sneaky rats right now that are sick and demented. And we are going to win.”
Finally he said, "The execution of Christians is no longer acceptable."
How right President Trump is. I thank God for his life every day. With him as leader of the free world, win we shall.
Yet sadly our Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who is undoubtedly a fine gentleman and who is a practising Pentecostal Christian, appears to be helpless and has done absolutely nothing to help and protect his own from the 'sneaky dirty rats'.
Clearly he has no power and he does not have the disposition or the political will and clout to take a stand against this great evil.

2face is never concerned about people, he's just concerned about himself - Balckface

2face is never concerned about people, he's just concerned about himself - Blackface

A few hours ago, Blackface renewed his bitter rivalry with 2face Idibia when he re-posted a lengthy piece titled 'Let us educate the illiterate' on his Instagram page targeting 2face Idibia and the planned protest on February 5, 5017. Read here

With this, LIB exclusively reached out to Blackface who defended his action saying, 'I don't think they should be thinking of a protest because we just got out from a crazy time, and the government is trying to fix the country. It's time to support the government and see what we can do for the country and not protest. They have been there for smaller amount of time and expect them to do miracles'. Read the rest of the exclusive interview after the cut....

LIB: Don't you think the present government has subjected several citizens to hardship?

This government? Have they forgotten there was a government before this present administration. If somebody has Pneumonia, you would forget the time the person was in cold. Just for us to be  factual, what is he protesting about? I think he should do better things than protesting. He should protest with his music, if I should advice him kindly. Has he protested for his Local government in his state? They say charity begins at home.

LIB: So you think the protest is meaningless?

I think its a waste of time.

LIB: Do you think the government has really done well?

We can't start asking this government if they have down well, they just started. PDP was there for about fifteen years. Did they come out to protest why there was no constant electricity?, Why was the National Stadium being used for unnecessary occasions? Why were people doing things against the law? so Why didn't they protest?

LIB: In the post you shared, 2face was described as an illiterate for his move to protest against the government, don't you think that was harsh?

I'm not the one who wrote the article, but there are things he shouldn't go into because he doesn't know anything about it.

LIB: So why did you repost it?

I had to because people have to read what the person's opinion is all about. This person thinks like this. You (2face) don't think similar and I think a lot of people feel this same way too. Has Fela ever called people out to come out a protest against the government? You(2face) calling people out? You (2face) know what you have done to people and now you are calling them out, he must be joking. He is never concerned about collective people, he is just concerned about himself. He can't just be mobilizing people, nah nah nah, that is a fraud.

LIB: What is your reaction to the Professor that called out 2face over his Protest against the Govt?

A professor, you mean a professor called him out and you think he is daft? We need to call a spade a spade. I know you guys are going write a lot of negative stuff about me that I said he shouldn't lead such protest. But what am saying is that nobody should use the manipulative mind to tell people to come out for something that is not worth it. That is wrong.

LIB: Don't you think 2face is a leader in the society and will be able to convince the government with the protest?

Let me tell you something. Does 2face Idibia have a fruitful foundation? No, Does 2face Idibia have anything that has to do with Benue State? No! Let me tell you something now. Emma  Ugolee is in the hospital. If somebody is a front runner what is he supposed to do? 2face is supposed to be able to mobilize people to figure out a way to raise money for  Ugolee 's hospital's bill. If I want to do that, the radio and TV are not going to listen to me. You guys have to come out straight. I don't know what will happen after it but we don't have to do no protest. Let us get our mind straight, they should stop that and stop manipulating people's mind.

Donald Trump has fired the acting US attorney general

Donald Trump has fired the acting US attorney general, after she questioned the legality of his immigration ban.
Sally Yates, who had been appointed under Barack Obama, earlier ordered justice department lawyers not to enforce the president's executive order.
In a statement, the White House said Ms Yates had "betrayed" the department.
Dana Boente, US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, replaces her as acting attorney general.
Mr Trump's order temporarily banned nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US, and sparked street protests in the US and abroad.

#ThisIsNotMuslimBan.. US President Donald Trump has defended his executive order

US President Donald Trump has defended his executive order ban on seven Islamic countries, saying it isn't a 'Muslim ban', rather an 'extreme vetting' . In a White House statement on Saturday afternoon, he said:
'My policy is similar to what President Obama did in 2011 when he banned visas for refugees from Iraq for six months,' Trump said of his own order, which is slated to expire in 90 days.  Obama's directive, carried out in response to a specific terror threat, affected only refugees.
He added that the seven countries– Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia Sudan, Syria and Yemen – 'are the same countries previously identified by the Obama administration as sources of terror.' He continued..
'To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting. This is not about religion – this is about terror and keeping our country safe. There are over 40 different countries worldwide that are majority Muslim that are not affected by this order.'
'What people need to understand is that 325,000 foreign travelers came into the United States.' 'About 109 of those people were retained – detained for further questioning because they came from the identified seven countries that the Obama administration and both houses of Congress have identified as being countries that harbor and train terrorists.'

Mark Zuckerberg criticize President Trump on immigration

Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg expressed concern on Friday over Trump's latest executive orders on immigration and refugees.
"My great grandparents came from Germany, Austria and Poland. Priscilla's parents were refugees from China and Vietnam. The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we should be proud of that. Like many of you, I'm concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump" Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post, which cited his family's immigrant background and his volunteer work with undocumented schoolchildren.

"We should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help. That's who we are. Had we turned away refugees a few decades ago, Priscilla's family wouldn't be here today" Zuckerberg wrote.
On Friday, Trump signed an executive order calling for "extreme vetting" of refugees, following through on promises on the campaign trail.

PRESS RELEASE: Buhari should speak to Nigerians via a Video Chat, instead of the circulation of pictures.

PRESS RELEASE: Buhari should speak to Nigerians via a Video Chat, instead of the circulation of pictures.
In the past few days, the social and traditional media has been rented with series of news and rumours that the President is dead, critically ill and was flown abroad in an emergency state, contrary to the information made available to Nigerians by the Presidency that Mr. Buhari is hale and hearty and having a vacation.
Since the different versions and reasons why Mr. President is in the UK is a speculation, and the Presidency has released two different photographs in a bid to convince the Nigerian people, and that has only ended up stirring more doubts, with news of possible extension to Mr Buhari's stay abroad beyond 10 days.
Therefore we call on the President of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari to address the Nation via a Video chat which could be transmitted through the National Television Authority (NTA) and other independent Television Stations around the world.
Mr Buhari is an employee of the nation, as such, he should not keep his employers, the Nigerian people out of communication since he is just out on a Holiday and not a medical trip with the information made available by the Presidency. He is the same man who declared to be against the idea of going abroad to seek medicare, yet ever since his assumption of office as president, he travels abroad every so often for the medical treatment. In as much as we want to believe that he is Hale and hearty and on vacation, we demand that he clears the air, the doubts and the rumours by taking a bold step to speak on a video chat to Nigerians.
It is believed that Pictures can not depict the true state of President Buhari since he has not physically communicated with the people, however, a Video chat can do that to dispel all the rumors and make the Nigerian people to be cleared of any doubts from all the misinformation about his health and/or possible death all around in the media.
The Nigerian Wailers pray and wish him a safe return from his 10 days vacation in the United Kingdom which is billed to end by February 6th, 2017, if that is correct. The Nigerian people are equally looking forward to his return hoping that he must have relaxed enough, going by the other version of the story. And that he will begin to truly and sincerely change and return the country to the path of economic recovery for greater good of all Nigerians.
Furthermore, we call on all the Nigerian people to continue to wish the country the best always, and pray for better days.

Our Daily Bread Devotional, January 28, 2017 - Always Loved, Always Valued

Topic: Always Loved, Always Valued [Saturday January 28, 2017]
Read: Romans 8:31–39, Bible in a Year: Exodus 19–20; Matthew 18:21–35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Romans 8:35
We serve a God who loves us more than our work.
Oh, it’s true that God wants us to work to feed our families and to responsibly take care of the world He created. And He expects us to serve the weak, hungry, naked, thirsty, and broken people around us even as we remain alert to those who have not yet responded to the Holy Spirit's tug on their lives.
And yet we serve a God who loves us more than our work.
We must never forget this because there may come a time when our ability to “do for God” is torn from us by health or failure or unforeseen catastrophe. It is in those hours that God wants us to remember that He loves us not for what we do for Him but because of who we are: His children! Once we call on the name of Christ for salvation, nothing—“trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword”—will ever again separate us “from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:35, 39).
When all we can do or all we have is taken from us, then all He wants us to do is rest in our identity in Him.
Prayer: Father, help us never lose sight of the unconditional love You have for us, and let us hold on to that hope when our labor—and the fruit of our labor—are gone.
The reason we exist is to be in fellowship with God.
Insight:
Are you as convinced as Paul was that nothing can separate you from the love of God? Paul was raised with a belief that his compliance with Mosaic law gave him acceptance with God. Yet all of that changed when he discovered that the Jesus he hated was the God who loved him. Through a direct encounter with the resurrected Christ, he learned that the love of God is not earned, but accepted as a gift of grace and mercy (Rom. 4:4–5). It comes to us not because of what we have done for Him or others but because of what God in His mercy has done for us.

APC SUMMONS SENATOR SHEHU SANI OVER TIRADE AGAINST PRESIDENT

APC SUMMONS SENATOR SHEHU SANI OVER TIRADE AGAINST PRESIDENT
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has written to the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani to come and explain his utterances regarding the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari.
THISDAY gathered that the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun drafted a letter yesterday evening to be sent to the senator inviting him to the party’s office in Abuja to discuss his criticism of the president’s handling of the allegations of corruption levelled against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir David Lawal.
Senator Sani had thrown a tirade on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday accusing the presidency of lies and hypocrisy, after the president wrote a letter to the Senate exonerating Lawal of corruption allegations.
The senator was miffed by the content of Buhari’s letter read by Senate President Bukola Saraki on the floor of the Senate, in which the president accused the ad hoc Committee on the Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in North-east chaired by Sani, of denying the SGF fair hearing by failing to invite him to defend himself during the investigation on the mismanagement of funds allocated to the North-eastern section of the country as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency.
The president, in his letter, also concluded that the ad hoc committee’s report was an interim one, obviously forgetting that the presidency had indicted and ordered the arrest and arraignment of the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, among others, in 2015, on the basis of an interim report submitted to it by a presidential committee set up to investigate the utilisation of funds for the procurement of arms by past administrations.
Sani had described the letter as the funeral of Buhari’s anti-corruption war, pointing out that when the president wants to fight corruption outside the presidency, he uses a disinfectant but when it is within the presidency, he uses a deodorant.

Nigerians we are lucky!!! by Adefemi

Nigerians we are lucky!!!
President Buhari is the best messiah that has ever happened to us in Nigeria because he's not tribalistic and he loves us. He's very intelligent and a good manager of our economy. He's a man that his body language alone has affected so many things positively. Look at prices of commodities the way they are stabilized. Look at our foreign reserves the way is increasing. His fight against corruption is unprecedented. He's a lover of democracy and a respecter of rule law. He loves agriculture so much that he supported land grazing for herdsmen. That is why you cannot hear of killings from herdsmen again. He's a man of integrity and love to keep to his words. That is why he only travels on vacation just to rest from stress. He loves made in Nigeria so much. He only patronize foreign medical care based on recommendations of ENT. He's a listening President to the extent that when cows were seized in Ekiti state, he sent #Ojudu to mediate. His stand on security is very firm and that is why till today #BokoHaram has been technically defeated. He loves information and he's a social media person. He has a twitter account that updates citizens of his activities. E.g. Just like he traveled to watch #ChannelTv in UK. He believes so much in freedom of speech but freedom after speech I doubt just like #GovElRufai is a very decent user of social media most especially his #twitter account from 2012 is full of motivation words on governance. You can check archive! PMB hates corruption with passion and that is why he's recovering our looted money but yet to give figures because they are still object of litigations. He's plain and caring.. He clear's things easily to instill discipline. He cleared Magu, He cleared SGF, He cleared Amaechi, Yet! He doesn't own a clearing firm. He's a lover of judiciary and he believes so much in credible election. E.g Bayelsa, Edo, Ondo and Rivers.. Seen is believing. In PMB's government no citizens, Pastors, Imam, Babalawo etc can be maltreated, arrested or mistakenly beaten, even in IDP camp it can never happen. Our military are the best in the world and they are decent and hardworking. PMB is an energetic man and he believes in the other room..... To crown it all, you can testify that job loss under PMB has reduced drastically.

President Buhari has been transfered to Kings Hospital in the United Kingdom on a life support machine.

Nigerian President, General Muhammadu Buhari who is battling with an undisclosed illness has been transfered to Kings Hospital in the United Kingdom on a life support machine.
The Issues surrounding his health became open to the public when the news broke that he was dead on www.metro-uk.com website, ever since then, Nigerians have been asking questions to know the whereabout and the state of Mr. Buhari’s health.
The Presidential aides has not even helped the matters, with the controversial picture of the President released online, which raised a lot of concerns and cast doubt in the minds of the Nigerian populace, suggesting that all might not be well with the Nigerian Leader.
To conceal the true situation to the public, the Presidency also planned to release an audio message of Mr Buhari instead of Video Chat via Skype, facetime or other video technology that can enable the leader reach out to Nigerians to dispel whatever rumor which may make the situation looks like the Yar-Adua era in 2010.
Nigerians have been putting more pressure on the Presidency, and the ruling All Progressive Congress leaders because they want to know exactly what is happening to the man they voted for en mass as their President in 2015 but the way and manner the issue is being treated suggests that something terrible might going on with the President.
Few days ago, a report filtered on Social Media that the Northern Governors and its eminent personalities were having a secret meeting, this also raised the doubt the people has about the state of Mr. Buhari’s health.
In a simple enquiry made by WAILERSNG, a Nigerian who works in kings hospital who rather wants to remain unnamed said that he will say categorically that he had heard Buhari screamed loudly.
He went further to say that the stage of Buhari’s transplant at the Hospital might not be possible again because Buhari organs maybe shutting down and his body might not be able to sustain or even absorbs any transplant due to old age. As we speak, he his on a life support meaning that his in a vegetative state.
Due to his incapacitation, people close to the President has been briefed by the UK Doctor, that Mr. Buhari should resign immediately to avoid leaving a vacuum which is capable of causing another political tension in the country. This advise may have been the reason Northern Leaders summon an emergency meeting.
For those in doubt of what is currently going on, the 10 days vacation is coming to an end soon, Nigerians will see if an additional days will be requested for Mr. Buhari or he will return to the country to clear the air.

[A MUST READ]: Patriotism is key! Stop wishing President Buhari Death, @AdeyanjuDeji caution Nigerians

[A MUST READ]: Patriotism is key! Stop wishing President Buhari Death, @AdeyanjuDeji caution Nigerians
I have read the rumours of the death of President Muhammadu Buhari at an unknown hospital and the reactions that have trailed those rumours with a growing sense of dismay. While the rumours have since been dispelled, it is very disconcerting to watch many Nigerians wish President Buhari ill health & death.
It is a well known fact that I am not a fan of President Buhari or his administration. It is also very well publicised that I do not feel he has the capacity to deliver the socio-economic and political growth and development Nigeria desperately needs.
However, I believe we must draw the line somewhere. And the appropriate place to draw the line must be when we wish death and ill health on our President. I do not believe that such wishes are in keeping with our traditions – regardless of the ethnic groups to which we belong – or in keeping with our faiths – regardless of the gods to whom we pray.
It is not sufficient to say that members of President Buhari’s party resorted to similar antics while they were in the opposition. As true as this may be, those antics were despicable then and laid foundation for the deep seated divisions that pervade Nigeria today. It is my belief that to set Nigeria on the path to healing, we have to deviate from that negative trajectory – even when we disagree.
I have noticed that many people have wished President Buhari ill in the name of playing opposition politics. I believe that this course of action is erroneous. Opposition politics should be about proffering credible alternatives; critiquing government policies and showing Nigerians how we can do better with similar resources; how our plans, policies and projections will improve the quality of life of the average Nigerian citizen from Sokoto to Port Harcourt, Kano to Lagos and Calabar to Maiduguri.
Only then can we convince Nigerians that we deserve much better than this government is giving us at the moment. If we say we are better, we must be better.
I urge Nigerians to remember the ethnic and religious tensions that the death of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua (of blessed memory) threw Nigeria into, tensions that I do not think we have recovered from. As unpleasant as it might be to say this, the sad reality of our geo-political construct is that the death of President Buhari may return Nigeria to those days.
Do not get me wrong. I am very unhappy with President Buhari’s stewardship of Nigeria. I am unhappy that there is a 100% rise in the price of food, drugs and other necessary day to day items. I am unhappy that we have to pay N145 per litre of fuel. I am unhappy that there is an absolute disregard for the rule of law. I am unhappy that our government sends our military out to kill protesters, no matter how misguided their protests may be. I am unhappy that our exchange rate is N499-$1. I am unhappy that we barely generate 2000mw of power. I can go on and on.
All I am saying is that instead of being motivated by our unhappiness to wish President Buhari death, let us put that unhappiness to good use by registering to vote, explaining to as many people as possible how his policies are impoverishing millions of Nigerians and ensuring that we vote him out in 2019.
That is the ideal to which we must aim.
God bless Nigeria.

Garba Shehu, hide your head in shame over your comment on Southern Kaduna killings- PDP

Garba Shehu, hide your head in shame over your remarks on Southern Kaduna killings- PDP

This is a press statement released and signed by Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the National Publicity Secretary of People's Democratic Party (PDP).
We condemn in totality the statement credited to the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity (SSA), Garba Shehu, on Channels Television today, Monday, January 23, 2017 wherein he shamelessly alledged that the killings in Southern Kaduna is partly the fault of the PDP because it is the only Senatorial District in the North West with PDP Senator. How sad!
 2. We are baffled that such a callous, irresponsible and insensitive statement could come from a person who speaks for the President of Nigeria. This shows the extent to which every issue in the Country today is viewed from the APC's and the Presidency's extremely narrow and jaundiced partisan political prism.
 3. Is Garba Shehu inferring that the hapless people of southern Kaduna were singled out for genocide because they elected a PDP senator? Or that the People invited such mindless violence upon themselves by choosing to be different in a sea of APC domination? Or is the Southern Kaduna massacre really an action to teach the people a bitter lesson for voting PDP and not APC? It is really unimaginable that any reasonable person can make such a reckless statement.
 4. One really wonders when the APC would finally accept responsibility for its incompetence and maladministration and end the blame game. They have spent the last two years doing nothing but blame the PDP for their woes. They will from all indications, spend the next two years doing the same. May be that's what they were elected to do after all. Even then, they need not descend to the gutter as Garba Shehu did on Channels TV  this morning.
 5. It is high time those in authority learned that we can not reduce everything to partisan politics.  You do not play politics with the lives of millions of people. That's exactly what APC Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el Rufai and President Buhari have been doing with the lives of the people of Southern Kaduna. Beyond politics, we are all accountable to God almighty.
 6. We once again call for an international inquiry into the Southern Kaduna massacre. We have little faith that those at the helm of affairs at the State and National levels will do justice in the matter.
 7. Finally we call on Garba Shehu to tender an unreserved apology to all Nigerians for his unguarded, reckless and irresponsible statement failing which we would call on President Buhari to relieve him of his duties.
Long live the people of Kaduna State and in particular, the Southern Kaduna constituents!
Long live the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)!!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

This is long but you wont regret reading it

*This is long but you wont regret reading it.*
Michael Jordan was born in 1963, in the slums of Brooklyn, New York.
He had four  siblings and his father's earnings were not sufficient to provide for the whole family.
He grew up in a poor neighbourhood. Exposed to mindless violence and heavy discrimination in the slums, he saw for himself only a hopeless future.
His father saw in Michael, a lost soul and decided to do something.
He gave Michael, who was 13 years old, a piece of used clothing and asked: "What do you think the value of this outfit would be?"
Jordan replied,"Maybe one dollar."
His father asked, "Can you sell it for two dollars? If you can sell it, it would mean that you are a big help to your family."
Jordan nodded his head, "I'll try, but no guarantee that I'll be successful."
Jordan carefully washed the cloth clean. Because they didn't have an iron, to smoothen the cloth, he levelled it with a clothes brush on a flat board, then kept it in the sun to dry. The next day, he brought the clothes to a crowded underground station. After offering it for more than six hours. Jordan finally managed to sell it for $2. He took the two dollar bill and ran home.
After that, everyday he looked for used clothing, washed and ironed it, and sold it in the crowd.
More than ten days later, his father again gave him a piece of used clothing, "Can you think of a way you can sell this for 20 bucks?"
Aghast, Jordan said, "How is it possible? This outfit can only fetch two dollars at the most."
His father replied, "Why don't you try it first? There might be a way."
After breaking his head for a few hours, finally, Jordan got an idea.
He asked for cousin's helpto paint a picture of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse on the garment. Then he tried to sell it in the school where the children of the rich study.
Soon a housekeeper, who was there to pick his master, bought that outfit for his master. The master was a little boy of only 10 years. He loved it so much and he gave a five dollar tip. 25 dollars was a huge amount for Jordan, the equivalent of a month's salary of his father.
When he got home, his father gave him yet another piece of used clothing, "Are you able to resell it at a price of 200 dollars?" Jordan's eyes lit up.
This time, Jordan accepted the clothes without the slightest doubt. Two months later a popular movie actress from the movie "Charlie's Angels", Farah Fawcett came to New York for her Movie promos. After the press conference, Jordan made his way through the security forces to reach the side of Farah Fawcett and requested her autograph on the piece of clothing. When Fawcett saw this innocent child asking for her autograph, she gladly signed it.
Jordan was shouting very excitedly, "This is a jersey signed by Miss Farah Fawcett, the selling price is 200 dollars!" He auctioned off the clothes, to a businessman for a price of 1,200 dollars!
Upon returning home, his father broke into TEARS and said, "I am amazed that you did it My child! You're really great! "
That night, Jordan slept alongside his father. His father said, "Son, in your experience selling these three pieces of clothing, what did you learn about success?"
Jordan replied, "Where there's a will, there's a way."
His father nodded his head, then shook his head, "What you say is not entirely wrong! But that was not my intention. I just wanted to show you that a piece of used clothing which is worth only a dollar can also be increased in value, Then how about us - living & thinking humans? We may be darker and poorer, but what if we CAN increase our VALUE."
This thought enlightened young Jordan. Even a piece of used clothing could be made dignified, then why not me? There is absolutely no reason to underestimate myself.
From then on, Michael Jordan felt that his future would be beautiful and full of hope.
He went on to become the greatest basketball player of all times.
How can I increase my own value? I am finding it a very interesting thought. I am sure, you too, will.

#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv

#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: Let me appreciate Nigerians again and thank you for inviting me over.  I didn’t beg or lobby for the position of PDP Governors' Forum,  I don't want to join issues with Senator Buruji Kasamu, when he becomes a governor, he may have his input on what governor does.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: I can always speak my mind on issues without being the Chairman,  being a Chairman of PDP Governors is an added advantage.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: I told you a dictator starts with someone, they started with the politicians, then the judiciary,  now they are on Journalists.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: My predictions are already coming to pass, watch out.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: As at today, we have lost more than 2000MW of electricity.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: The Chibok girls  story was a ruse, it was orchestrated to oust former president Jonathan.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: On Chibok girls, even Ekiti State, the Fountain of Knowledge does not have any school where 250 pupils will be writing Physics at the same time, Physics students that can't speak English language.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: I  don't follow multitudes to lie, I am a blunt person,  you may not like me but you have to live with it,  people are at liberty to  choose what to believe.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: On North East,  the Nigerian government created an IDP camp, the same government went there to bomb them. The government should have made inquiries,  not to tell us that it was just a mistake.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: A good leader use carrot and stick approach, that is what they need do in the Niger Delta.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: This government does not have an economic plan that can last the test of time.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: I am not here to massage ego, the FG should begin to fulfil the previous promises, enough of these empty promises.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: Salaries are being owed, I am owing 4 months and I rank 2nd in terms of regular salary payment in the South-West. This month, I got #1.4b as allocation(Ekiti State wage bill is about #2.6b monthly).
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: On agriculture,  I am spending #100m on land clearing in each LG.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: SSS submitted a damning report on Magu yet nothing was done, the same SSS  report forced judges to step down. It’s different laws for different people in this administration.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: The protest at EFCC of against my emergence as Chairman of PDP Governors' Forum  is political, they are miscreants, if they have anything against me, they should keep their gun powder dry till I am through in 2018.
#GovFayoseOnChannelsTv: Thanks for having me here Seun, let's have another time to talk extensively but for now, tell Mr. President to do something very quickly about the hunger ravaging Nigeria.

Our Daily Bread devotional, January 22, 2017 - God’s Face

Our Daily Bread devotional, January 22, 2017 - God’s Face

Topic: God’s Face [Sunday January 22, 2017]
Read: 2 Corinthians 4:4–15, Bible in a Year: Exodus 4–6; Matthew 14:22–36
For God . . . made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
Much of my career as a writer has revolved around the problem of pain. I return again and again to the same questions, as if fingering an old wound that never quite heals. I hear from readers of my books, and their anguished stories give human faces to my doubts. I remember a youth pastor calling me after he had learned that his wife and baby daughter were dying of AIDS because of a tainted blood transfusion. “How can I talk to my youth group about a loving God?” he asked.
I have learned to not even attempt an answer to these “why” questions. Why did the youth pastor’s wife happen to get the one tainted bottle of blood? Why does a tornado hit one town and skip over another? Why do prayers for physical healing go unanswered?
One question, however, no longer gnaws at me as it once did: “Does God care?” I know of only one way to answer that question, and the answer is Jesus. In Jesus, God gave us a face. If you wonder how God feels about the suffering on this groaning planet, look at that face.
“Does God care?” His Son’s death on our behalf, which will ultimately destroy all pain, sorrow, suffering, and death for eternity, answers that question. “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (2 Cor. 4:6).
God’s love for us is as expansive as the open arms of Christ on the cross.

EVERY RIGHT THINKING NIGERIAN WILL TYPE: Thank you Mr Donald Trump, to this;

EVERY RIGHT THINKING NIGERIAN WILL TYPE: Thank you Mr Donald Trump, to this;
.
Thank you for not inviting them...you have saved us a great deal and if you don't know...
You have saved us $1.5m of taxpayers money that Buhari would have used to land in the USA, mope around all day, smile and laugh, then sink in a deep cough and not hear a word; finally come back emptier than ever!
.
You have saved us N3b naira worth of billboards, banners and posters that Okorocha Rochas would have put up with slogans like,"The latest face of change" to deface Imo state and tell Imolites they are owing him N36b by 2019!
.
You have saved us over $1m that Aisha and Zara would have used just to come sit at the diplomatic stand, chew gums, snap Selfies and update profiles with "Fayose see me and Ivanka" and "Ivanka's complexion on my mind"
.
You have saved us over $1m, the cost of carrying Rotimi Amaechi, whose next newspaper headline on return would have been"American companies have sworn to build 36 rail stations for 36 states" and "Trump hates Wike"
.
You saved us lies!!!
Lai Mohammed was already rehearsing his scripts and I am sure," Trump begs Buhari to partner with him", "Trump to Buhari: you are a messaih" would have been his first lies. This would have cost us N850m!!
.
All the estacodes...a minimum of $250k and a crowd of not less than 130 persons including PAs of the PA to the SA of Senior SAs.
.
Thank you once again Mr Trump! Thank you for not inviting us!
I am sure the 19 Northern governors would have used the opportunity to conclude their meeting with Mr John Kerry and that is $1m × 19 = $19m ( don't bother using BODMAS, we have saved that).
.
I am sure some of the constituted authorities like Ajimobi of Oyo state who cannot pay salaries or fund education in their states would have been there with federal allocations, not less than $10m budgeted.
.
Sure it would have been an opportunity to meet some of your Parliament members... so Bukola Saraki and his entourage should have been there. Mr Trump, that alone would have been paid for using oil wells for at least 2 years!!!
.
Our 3 in one minister and jack of all trade, Babatunde Fashola would have been in the parade too. Just $50k would have taken him to and fro but I bet you, he will update his website with $2m with messages like,"American Electricity company takes over kainji and 400 power stations "!
.
I did not forget the failing health of the president (that has refused to fail totally) and I know what your health system is like, so this would have been a glorious opportunity to spend his leave there...please that one I am not sure we can fund it alone without the help of IMF and the world bank if he was in America...
.
You saved us their noise,  their pride, their nuisance, cost of gingles, their cluelessness, the appalling photographs that you will not know when they have snapped it but they will use it as 2019  election campaign posters!
On your first day in office, you saved us over $200m in this recession!!!
.
This is the money they siphon from our pockets while their gullible fans are on fb, tweeter and all social media shouting its PDP vs APC!!!!

PRESS RELEASE: Nigerian Wailers Congratulates Donald Trump as the 45th President of The United States of America.

PRESS RELEASE: Nigerian Wailers Congratulates Donald Trump as the 45th President of The United States of America.
We congratulate Mr. Donald John Trump on his emergence and swearing in as the 45th President of The United States of America.
America has been a world leading power that has been of great support for other nations in Africa and world over, working harder to ensure a stable world and democracy that is practicable.
We are hopeful that with President Trump, prosperity and peaceful coexistence will return in the world, with less war and Nuclear aggression amongst other Super Powers.
It is also our hope that, the Trump Presidency will take cognizance of, and address the turbulent issues of lack of Democracy under the Buhari's Administration and Human Rights abuse, violations in Nigeria such as the Incarceration of Mr. Kanu Nnamdi of Indigenous People of Biafra, the massacre of the peaceful Shiite Muslims with continued detention of their leader Sheik El-Zakzaky against court orders, the gruesome murder of Southern Kaduna People, clampdown on the Judiciary, clam down on the Media, press freedom and flagrant recalcitrance to Rule of Law, the Supreme Law of the Land, the constitution and court orders.
We are immensely optimistic  that peace will return in Africa and other continents of the world in furtherance of democracy and good governance with the Trump leading the Super powers.
As the foremost Pro-Democracy Pressure and Advocacy group in Nigeria, we assure President Donald J.Trump of our corporation and support on anything that will engender democracy in Nigeria.
We also use this medium to make bare some issues of great concern to us as a people, a nation Nigeria, to the President.
1. We need the President to use his revered position to assist Nigeria in repatriating the Abacha Looted funds, with guidelines that will check the funds from being re-looted by Buhari's Administration.
2. We also urge President Trump to ensure a mechanism for the protection of all legal Nigerian Immigrants in the US against any and every form of racial abuses, and that those who are yet to perfect their immigration papers be assisted as Nigerians do not wish to be illegal immigrants in America.
It is our hope that against any backdrop, Nigeria like every other powerful Nation in the world, will have a better and stronger ties with America in terms of Foreign Policies, Bilateral Trades and other relationships that will facilitate, engender and enable a better relationship that will bring great prosperity to both Countries and the people.
We have unprecedented and unflinching hope that with TRUMP,  America, Africa and the world will be Great Again.

Winning Wisdom: Living Sacrifice

Winning Wisdom: Living Sacrifice

Author: Ese Ehimare Dave
Topic: Living Sacrifice [Thursday, 19th Jan. 2017]
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1
From our lead scripture, we are encouraged by the inspiration of God's Spirit, to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, which as the NIV bible puts it, is our true and proper worship. Does this means we need to, like Abraham attempted with Isaac, offer ourselves as sacrifices to God, as an act of worship to God? In the Old Testament, apart from offering the regular prayers, burnt sacrifices were offered unto God and this was probably the highest form of worship then. But these sacrifices are not "living". The animals used were actually killed and burnt.
But Paul is urging us to be "living" sacrifices. Another word for living is active. Reading further down Romans 12:4-8, we see Paul enumerating some activities we have received grace to carry out. Those are the "acts of worship" we are to offer unto God. In everything that God has given us grace to do, we must reverentially carry it as an act of spiritual worship. Just like the men of old reverentially sacrificed their burnt offerings to God.
God wants to use the instrumentality of our bodies - our intellect,  mind, hands, legs - for activities that furthers the spread of His Kingdom. And we are urged to sacrifice our "bodies" for this holy task. This is our act of worship. Whether in prophesying, in teaching, in exhorting, in administrating, etc, do it as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23), as an act of worship to Him. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship" (Romans 12:1 NIV).
 Keep winning daily.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, daily I offer my body to You, as an act of worship, for the use of the propagation of your kingdom. I am active in the place you have graced me to function in, and I do it, achieving great result, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

PRESS RELEASE: Nigerian Wailers Condole with Borno, IDP Families, charges Senate to Probe Military Accidental Killings.

PRESS RELEASE: Nigerian Wailers Condole with Borno, IDP Families, charges Senate to Probe Military Accidental Killings.
We condole with the good people of Borno State, and the families of the deceased who lost their lives at the Rann IDP camp over what the Military termed as Accidental Bomb Shell targeted at terrorist but killed innocent Internal Displaced Persons and aide workers who were catering for the IDPs.
It is rather sad and worrisome that the deaths occurred when the deceased who had already gone through hell, and have been severely traumatized in the hands of Boko Haram Insurgents for over 2 years and ended up being killed by the Nigerian army who are supposed to protect them at the camp that served as their shied and fortress.
The accidental shell could have been avoided if the Federal Government led by President Buhari pays attention to updated Military trainings for our officers, procurement of modern miliwares rather than their usual business of lies, propaganda and blame game with #Dasukigate who he has refused to allow testify, clear his name in the open court.
We urge the families of the deceased to take heart for this irreplaceable loss and gruesome deaths of their beloved ones, the Nigerian Wailers are with them at this time of national grief.
We therefore call on the Senate, House of Reps and other International Agencies to wade in and probe what the army termed as accidental shell on the IDP Camp in Rann, every lives of Nigerians matters and investigations should be conducted into what led to that fatal error so as to avert future occurrence.
There are lots of insinuations in the Nigerian public that, if the aides workers who escaped death were not present to report the case to the media, the army could have twisted the story that it was Boko Haram that overran the camp, we are also aware that over times, several deaths or bombing has been happening in the IDP camps across the states, the probe and investigation should unravel the truth behind the accident bombing to forestall future error.
We also call on President Muhammadu Buhari who was at one time a Military Head of State to equip the Navy, Army and other forces with required Trainings and equipments that will prevent accidental discharge and shell capable of wiping off large numbers of Nigerians, it is our belief that if it can happen in Borno, it can as well happen in any other parts of Nigeria.

President Buhari regrets accidental bombing, condoles with families of the dead

President Buhari regrets accidental bombing, condoles with families of the dead

President Buhari has received with deep sadness and regret, the accidental bombing of a civilian community in Rann, Borno State, by the Nigerian Air Force, engaged in the final phase of mopping up insurgents in the North-east.
At least 120 people were wounded and 52 killed in the aerial bombing including ten humanitarian Aid workers with Red Cross and MSF International.

President Buhari condoles with families of the dead, wishes the wounded divine succour, leading to full recovery, and sympathizes with the Borno State government.
The President pledges federal help for the state government in attending to "this regrettable operational mistake," and pleads for calm, even as he prays God to grant repose to the souls of the dead.

Our Daily Bread devotional, January 17, 2017 - Finding Life

Our Daily Bread devotional, January 17, 2017 - Finding Life

Topic: Finding Life [Tuesday January 17, 2017]
Read: John 14:5–14, Bible in a Year: Genesis 41–42; Matthew 12:1–23
Because I live, you also will live. John 14:19
The words of Ravi’s father cut deep. “You’re a complete failure. You’re an embarrassment to the family.” Compared to his talented siblings, Ravi was viewed as a disgrace. He tried excelling in sports, and he did, but he still felt like a loser. He wondered, What is going to become of me? Am I a complete failure? Can I get out of life some way, painlessly? These thoughts haunted him, but he talked to no one. That simply wasn’t done in his culture. He had been taught to “keep your private heartache private; keep your collapsing world propped up.”
So Ravi struggled alone. Then while he was recovering in the hospital after a failed suicide attempt, a visitor brought him a Bible opened to John 14. His mother read these words of Jesus to Ravi: “Because I live, you also will live” (v. 19). This may be my only hope, he thought. A new way of living. Life as defined by the Author of life. So he prayed, “Jesus, if You are the one who gives life as it is meant to be, I want it.”
Life can present despairing moments. But, like Ravi, we can find hope in Jesus who is “the way and the truth and the life” (v. 6). God longs to give us a rich and satisfying life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I need Your forgiveness. Thank You, Jesus, for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to You alone.
Only Jesus can give us new life.
Insight:
On the eve of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, His preoccupation was not with the imminent pain that awaited Him but on the welfare of His disciples. After promising He was going away to prepare a dwelling place for them, Jesus told His followers He would come again to gather them to Himself. The foundation for such claims was Christ’s declaration that He is “the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). He was able to comfort His disciples because of who and what He is. Jesus offers all who believe in Him the same hope of a new life.

Breaking: Scores feared dead as suicide bombers hit University of Maiduguri mosque

Breaking: Scores feared dead as suicide bombers hit University of Maiduguri mosque
Twin Suicide Bombers have sneaked into the University of Maiduguri, Borno state, and detonated heavy explosives at a mosque near Gate 4 and 5 of the institution. AN OPEN LETTER TO MY FELLOW NIGERIAN YOUTHS

AN OPEN LETTER TO MY FELLOW NIGERIAN YOUTHS.
Dear Nigerian Youths,
Wikipedia defined politics as a process of making decision applying to all members of each group, more narrowly it defines politics as achieving and exercising positions of governance, organized control over a human community particularly a state
With these definitions of politics we see the great importance of politics, unfortunately the Nigerian youth of today do not participate in Nigerian politics, by participation, they are not involved in  the whole process of politics as they only participate in the ballot processes.
I strongly believe that not enough is done for the youths of today to get involved fully in politics, the youths should be allowed more access to politics to shape the future of Nigeria.
Inaccessibility although will not be a barrier if today youths brace up enough to their responsibility.
In Nigeria today, UNDP once supported youth based CSO coalition to actively participate in the constitution review process including submission of memorandum to constitution review committee of the National Assembly, I remember a forum formed ahead of the then 2015 election that cut across many political parties called Nigerian Youth inter party forum.
This forum was used to deliberate on issues of common interest and challenges affecting the expansion of frontiers for youth political participation.
Today’s youths spend valuable time on flimsy things, singing praises of corrupt  leaders and wasting away in whatnots.
What has happened to the good example people like late Obafemi  Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikwe and former president Yakubu Gowon laid during the days of their youths.

Alas, My fellow Nigerian youths the time has come for us to look back and take the right steps towards salvaging this country from the present corrupt leaders who has been feeding fat on our future for the sake of our born/unborn children, it is not to late for us to be part of the whole governing process, though the challenges may be harsh but with great doggedness and determination we will get there.
I implore us to live to our responsibilities as youths with a difference.
Thank for reading, God bless the Federal Republic Nigeria.

Nigeria's deadly monster Part 1 by Femi Fani Kayode

When you take everything away from a man or a people, including their humanity, their loved ones, their land, their posessions, their faith, their God, their self-respect, their identity and their dignity and you put them and theirs under the fire and sword morning, day and night, you cannot expect them not to voice their pain and not to scream out and shout.
And when the screaming and shouting goes unheeded you cannot expect them not to hit back and attempt to break the yoke of torment, subjugation, tyranny and slavery that has been placed upon them.
No matter how powerful you are and how long you have been killing them and all who are there’s, one day they will rise up, pull you down from your giddy heights, cut open your throat and drain your blood.
If history teaches us nothing else, it teaches us that much. The morale of the tale is as follows: mind how you insult and mock your victims and those that you treat with contempt, kill at will and hold in bondage because one day their time will come.
It is in this context that I view the shameful call by the Council of Imams for the arrest of the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Christian leaders in Southern Kaduna for asking the people to defend themselves from genocide.
The call is not only reckless and provocative but it is also self-seeking and dangerous.
Lest we forget the facts are as follows: 808 Christians were butchered on Christmas eve and Christmas day by the Muslim Janjaweed Fulani militia in Southern Kaduna.
Not one of the butchers and bloodthirsty murderers that perpetuated these heinous crimes have been identified, apprehended, arrested or eliminated since then by our security forces.
The Christians of Nigeria are still in mourning and the people of Southern Kaduna are still suffering from heavy trauma.
Despite that there have been no soothing words or expressions of regret, consolation or solidarity from any Sunni Muslim group in the country since the pogrom took place.
The only thing that they have heard are threats and insults from the Council of Imams. The only exceptions are the Shiite Muslims who have consistently expressed outrage about what is going on in Southern Kaduna and who have themselves also been subjected to mass murder and genocide in Kaduna state simply because they are not Sunnis.
Simply put, the Islamists first butchered the flock then told the shepherd that he dare not complain or attempt to protect those that were left alive. What type of monsters are these?
The Supreme Council Of Islamic Affairs made matters worse by saying that those that killed 808 Christians in Southern Kaduna on Christmas eve and Christmas day were “unkown elements”.
Really? This is surely the biggest insult of all. It is rather like saying that those that perpetuated the holocaust against the Jews which resulted in the cold-blooded murder of 6 million Jews were “unkown elements”. To indulge in such mendacity is as insensitive as it is callous.
Worse still it represents the greatest perversion of truth and the most bestial denial of decency and justice that Nigeria has witnessed in many years.
It is falsehood and pefidy, cooked and served up by a group of unconscioble and uncontrollable dark and evil men who believe that they can get away with absoluteĺy anything and who are a law unto themselves.
Meanwhile, Miyetti Allah, the umbrella organisation that speaks for the Fulani herdsmen and the Janjaweed militia, have said that the mass murder of Christians that took place in Southern Kaduna on Christmas eve and Christmas day were “reprisal” and “revenge” killings for the murder of their kith and kin by the Christians of Southern Kaduna in 2011. Need we look any further for who the real culprits are?
In his own contribution the Minister of Internal Affairs, General Dambazzau, who is himself a Fulani Muslim, has roundly condemned CAN’s call on the Federal Government to do its job and protect the people of Southern Kaduna and their counsel to the Christians to defend themselves where and when the government fails to do so. I ask again, what type of monsters are these?
And why has our President refused to call them to order? Is it because he shares the same faith and comes from the same region as them? Is it because the President himself is not only a Muslim and a Fulani man but also the Life Patron of Miyetti Allah?
Professor Wole Soyinka provides profound insight into the matter. He said,
“Religion in the history of this continent has been a disastrous venture, a disaster in many zones and continues to be even so today. In this very nation in Southern Kaduna, over 800 souls were brutally extinguished suddenly. While the issue of grazing lands versus farming is unquestionably part of the conflict, it is equally undeniable that religious differences have played crucial role in the conflict. And yet some weeks before the latest outrage, the governor of that state was quoted to have claimed that peace was nigh since he had sent funds to the earlier wave of killers and they had agreed to end their killing spree. What astonished me was not the admission by the governor but the astonishment of others at such governmental response to atrocity. There was nothing new about it. Has appeasement to religious forces not become a Nigerian face of justice and equity? First lethargy and then appeasement. Wasn’t Boko Haram’s Muhammed Yusuf not a beneficiary of appeasement in a similar fashion? Southern Kaduna has reminded us once again that the monster always lying waiting to pounce under the guise of religion. If you ask why General Buhari did not act fast enough when these events take place, which degrade us as human beings, well it is perhaps he has been waiting for the governor of that state to send money to the killers first for them to stop the killing.”
Whatever the reasons are for the indifference of our President and the callousness and insensitivity of the Council of Imams, the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Miyetti Allah, Governor Nasir El Rufai, General Dambazzau and all those that support them, it would be wise for them to appreciate the fact that the patience of the rest of the country is fast running out and that they are set to provoke a chain of ugly events the end of which will not augur well for them or their cause.
Nothing reflects this better than the words of Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel, who is one of the most influential and powerful clerics in the country, when he said,
“Since when has it become a crime for Christians to say they can defend themselves ?
Must the north always rule? If Nigeria will break let it break. No marriage is by force. I curse every Islamic northern forces sponsoring this uprising of Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram in Jesus name. You catch anyone that looks like them, kill him! There is no reporting to anybody. Kill him! Pull off his neck! And we spill his blood on the ground. What nonsense. They said why should Christians say they could defend themselves, hold it! What stupid statement, why should Christians say they could defend themselves? So, they should watch for you to put a knife to their necks? You think we are dummies? What! What? All those zeros census they are fake. Where are the human beings?Where are they? We go around the place. Where are they? We’ve never had a successful census in this country. Where are they? Don’t mistake only those in politics as in power. The anointed in the Lord are the ones in power. By divine ordination, don’t mistake that. There was a king in the land but Elijah was determining the events of the nation. If I say it will not rain here for three years, it will not drop. What nonsense! Who born their mother, who born their father? They are too small. Come! Get excited and walk in confidence. Any devil that misbehaves around you will be slain by the fire!”
Again Darius Ishaku, the Governor of Taraba state, said,
”The people of Southern Kaduna must wake up from their slumber and defend themselves. You can’t just lie down and allow yourselves to be annihilated by other groups. You have a constitutional right to self-defense and now is the time to use it. The government alone cannot do it.”
Clearly the drums of war and conflict are already beating in our nation and no-one takes a greater share of the blame for this than those identifiable forces that are encouraging, sponsoring, protecting and covertly supporting these barbaric and murderous Fulani militias and herdsmen. They are all, to the last man, nothing but monsters and beasts. (TO BE CONCLUDED).

#OccupyCBN: Our Simple Demands to Save The Naira

#OccupyCBN: Our Simple Demands to Save The Naira
As part of our contribution to the socio-economic growth of Nigeria, we have analysed the various monetary and foreign exchange policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which has been implemented over the last 20 months. For the avoidance of doubt, these policies are hinged on the lofty ideals to spur the production and consumption of locally made products and services, reduce the importation of goods and services of that can be made in Nigeria and improve the foreign exchange reserves of the country. Tragically, the policies designed and being implemented to achieve these lofty ideals have failed. As a result, the Naira was one of the worst performing currencies in the world in 2016. We have witnessed an erosion of the value of the Naira, an increase in inflation to 20%, almost 100% increase in the price of essential products such as medication and drugs.
As Nigerians, we believe it is part of our civic duties to highlight these issues, and proffer solutions with a hope to contribute to the achievement of the above stated lofty ideals, as well as the ideal of improving the quality of life and welfare of the average Nigerian citizen. To this end, we make the following recommendations:
1. That the CBN completely reverses its command and control policies via which it seeks to forcefully regulate the value of the Naira and access to foreign exchange for the conduct of businesses that are critical to the Nigerian economy.

2. That the CBN completely reverses its policy of it’s controlled “float” of the Naira. Instead, we recommend that the CBN implements a policy where the Naira is freely floated and allowed to find its proper value.

We are aware that this would in the short run probably spike a worsening in the exchange rate. But if this is implemented in tandem with other investor friendly policies, it would spur an increase in the amount of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) that Nigeria receives. We are fully aware that an increase in the amount of FDI and FPI will go a long way in improving the value of the Naira.

If the CBN had implemented a free float of the Naira at the time it falsely claimed to have done so, by now Nigeria and Nigerians would have been yielding the attendant benefits. However, its failure/neglect/refusal to do so has resulted in a situation where we bear all the negative effects of a devaluation of currency without reaping any benefits.

3. We recommend that the CBN scraps its list of the 41 items designated as “Not Valid for Forex”. In reality, this affects significantly more than 41 items (the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria [MAN] states that this list affects as many as 720 items most of which are critical to the manufacturing sector).

Most of the items on this list are critical to the manufacturing sector and the restriction on access to foreign exchange rabidly reduces the ability of manufacturers to produce goods.
In fact, in its end of year analysis MAN stated that as a direct consequence of the implementation of these policies as many as 50 factories had been shut and more than 12000 manufacturing sector jobs had been lost in 2016 alone. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data for Q1-Q3 2016 shows that the sector has been very badly hit as its negative growth rate is significantly worse than most other sectors.
These results show that the policy is having a significantly negative effect on the sector and, in fact, hampers the lofty ideals of producing more local goods and services.
4. We are aware that contrary to the belief widely expressed by the CBN, Nigeria does not necessarily have an importation problem. What we have is an export problem. Nigeria’s problems are tied to the fact that crude oil is Nigeria’s largest source of foreign exchange.
To this end, if Nigeria is able to improve it’s the number and quality of products it exports, it would earn significantly more foreign exchange to ameliorate the consequences of the fall in the price of crude oil.
To this end, we recommend that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari should focus more on the building of the capacity of Nigerian companies to produce and export goods than it currently does on reducing imports. This will improve the balance of trade, improve Nigeria’s foreign reserves and shore up the value of the Naira.
5. We recommend that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the CBN focuses more on improving the agricultural value chain than it currently does on “returning to farming”.

We make this recommendation on the basis of two facts:
a. Almost 70% of food crops and fruits produced by farmers in Nigeria wastes on an annual basis. This is because we lack the require transportation infrastructure, storage infrastructure, processing infrastructure, and funding to process and transport food crops and fruits as quickly as possible to the consumer.

What Nigeria needs is not a mere returning to farms but a strengthening of the agricultural value chain that sees better capacity utilization at the farms, better transportation, the establishment of processing factories and ease of export of the processed foods and fruits.

What Nigeria needs is the strengthening of our quality control organisations to ensure that the food crops and fruits produced in Nigeria meets the standards required for export to other countries.

b. Our research indicates that countries with established food processing and export policies (and the implementation thereof) earn significantly more than countries that just produce food crops. For instance, our research shows that while Cote d’ Ivoire earned a little over $2bn from the production and export of Cocoa in the 2014, Switzerland earned more than $18bn (almost the total value of the Nigerian budget for 2015) in the same year from the production and sale of chocolates and other cocoa based products.

To our minds, a country seeking to resolve its currency crises should be focused more on capacity utilization and strengthening the agricultural value chain than it is on farming.
To this end, we recommend that the CBN designs and implements policies that improves access to funding for farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural value chain than it currently does.
We are aware that there are a number of commendable initiatives in this regard. However, the processes of accessing funds provided for by most of these initiatives are cumbersome and tedious in a manner that discourages people from going through with them.
We also recommend that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari commences a review of the Land Use Act and land tenure systems in Nigeria to enable farmers and other relevant stakeholders more easily secure title to lands which will then provide the basis for accessing funds for agricultural purposes.
6. We recommend that the CBN becomes more transparent in its dealings relating to the allocation of foreign exchange to Nigerians for whatever purposes. To this end, we recommend that CBN publishes its monthly “Form M” report to enable Nigerians know the people to which foreign exchange has been allocated, the rates at which the allocations were made, the purposes for which the allocations were made and the status of achievement of those purposes.

The implementation of this recommendation will go a long way towards ensuring that currency speculators who access foreign exchange from government coffers through dubious means will be exposed, and prosecuted where necessary.

7. Finally, we are dismayed that the simple process of seeking to contribute to national discourse and problem solving, which ought to be welcomed and viewed as an exercise of civic duties has caused so much rancour to the point where the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the FCT Command of the Nigerian Police Force threatened to arrest, detain and prosecute Nigerians who participated in our peaceful procession.

We use this medium to remind the Police Force of our rights to peaceful assembly as enshrined in Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution as amended and as upheld by our various courts.

We also use this medium to express our dismay at the comments of the Director of Corporate Communications of the CBN who rather than engage with Nigerian citizens on legitimate and valid fears and concerns chose to take to the media to call us names and make baseless allegations.

We will continue to exercise the right to peaceful & lawful assembly in accordance to the law and as long as these problems persist.

We hope that in the coming years these sort of anti-democratic actions will be greatly reduced.

God bless Nigeria.
