Brittney Griner may have been unsuccessful in seeking to annul her marriage to Glory Johnson, but she secured a major victory in court today.
An Arizona judge denied Glory’s request for $20,000 a month from Brittney in spousal support.
Because Glory is pregnant and unable to play basketball for the Tulsa Shock this season, she had requested $20,000 a month to help pay for food, hired help, legal fees and her Mercedes Benz.
Although Brittney reportedly looks to make about $1 million this year, she contended in court that she could not afford Glory’s requested amount.
Following the judge’s decision, Brittney’s attorney released the following statement:
“We are very pleased that the judge
has ruled, after evaluating the credibility of the testimony, that a
28-day marriage does not entitle Glory Johnson to Brittney Griner’s
money for purposes of alimony, Mercedes car payments or attorney’s
fees.”
Whether Brittney will have to cough up money for child support is yet
to be determined, but we expect things to get messy pretty soon.SOURCE
