The Genesis Of Dasuki's Trial By Adefemi
The genesis of Dasuki's trial was like a drama... Immediately the former President GEJ handed over the mantle of leadership, he did say during his valedictory service that "most of you that worked with me will be persecuted but do not be intimidated as you remain to the cause of standing for the truth" just a summary. Immediately few days later Dasuki's house was ran sacked by DSS and 5 riffles, G Wagon and some items were found in his house and it was revealed that those items can be used to destabilize a country. Anyway, I laughed because what are they expecting to find in the house of former NSA? is it beans or bananas? That's story for another day. It was after this that Dasuki approached court and he was granted an injunction that his passport should be released so that he can travels for treatment. I was surprised because how could someone that is facing charges will be allowed to travel? What if he didn't come back? Moreover, FG ought to have obeyed before complaining by providing strong security and asked Dasuki to visit Nigeria hospital. Infact, they did not obey the court order even in democracy? What happened next? PMB set up a committee to look into the money spent on ammunition and the investigation was carried out in Dasuki's absent which to me is cool in order to avoid any impediment. It was after the investigation that committee submitted their report to President Buhari that $2.1billion was mismanaged under Dasuki.. Buhari was angry and he ordered the arrests of anybody involved. That's a good step on the right direction but the bottom line is why the trial by media or on the pages of newspaper ? All the information bandied up and down that A collects' this and B collect's that is not the trial the people wants. If Dasuki is guilty of all the allegations he should kindly pay dearly for it. As it stands today, Dasuki's lawyer said he has never mentioned nor named anybody and that figures going round is figment of the imagination of the author. The case has now been adjourn till Dec 8.... By Adefemi
