This is the adorable moment a 3 year old boy ran into the arms of his mother after not seeing her for months as she and other soldiers stood in line waiting to finally be dismissed so they could re-unite with their families after serving in Afghanistan for 9 months.
As soldiers stood in line, 3 year old Cooper Waldvogel ignored the strict military protocol, ran up to the troops and into his mother’s arms, who was so happy to scoop him up. Other soldiers tried to keep straight faces because they’d been ordered not to interact with family members as they stood in line, but they later said it was the most adorable thing they’d ever seen. Nigerian Government Reacts to Egypt Air’s Maltreatment of 17-Year-Old Nigerian Student
According to PremiumTimes, she said it was unacceptable that Egypt Air had failed to respond to repeated enquiries from the Nigeria Embassy in Cairo on what led to the treatment of the Nigerian student in Ukraine like a criminal.
In his defence, the Egyptian ambassador said the Nigerian media was to blame for escalating a “small incident’’ involving a Nigerian passenger and Egypt Air, which is wholly owned by the Egyptian government. He added that his embassy had contacted Egypt Air and his home government on the incident but had yet to receive a formal report.

Cheating Man Ordered to Pay $5K for Taking Girlfriend’s Virginity
A People’s Court in Pudong New Area had ordered the man, surnamed Li, to pay his younger lover, surnamed Chen, the money in compensation for violating her “virginity right”.
This is the first time I’m hearing about virginity as a right, and a man being made to pay back for it in such a situation. I’m still thinking whether it is a good or bad thing. Read on for the full story according to SCMP,
The court heard how Chen met Li online five years ago but didn’t start dating him until September 2013, at which time Li told her he was a bachelor. During a trip to Singapore later in the year, the couple had sex for the first time, but after they returned to China Li became distant and soon broke off their relationship.
In February, unable to contact Li, Chen broke into his home, where she met his wife.
On March 26, Chen filed a lawsuit alleging that Li had “violated her virginity by deception”. She demanded 500,000 yuan in compensation and a written apology.

NEMA South-West spokesman, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, made the statement while addressing newsmen at the site of the collapsed building in Ikotun, Lagos.
An uncompleted six-storey guest house owned by the church, collapsed on September 12 leaving scores of people dead and several others injured.
Farinloye made the statement while reacting to the claim by the South African President, Mr Jacob Zuma that 67 worshippers from South Africa died in the incident.
"It is too early to say that all the dead persons recovered from the collapsed building were South Africans. Investigations are ongoing to determine the nationalities of the victims, ’’ he added.

4 people die in Kebbi after police rescue foreign national suspected of being a ritualist
Today at about 12noon, a group of villagers in Kamba, Kebbi State, were about to lynch a national of Niger Republic, named Adamu Gaya, on suspicion of involvement in an alleged ritual murder of a young girl. The Police rescued and brought him into protective custody.
However, irate villagers attacked the Police station and destroyed the communication base. They also burnt two (2) Police vehicles, and nine (9) motorcycles.The Inspector-General of Police, Ag.IGP Suleiman Abba has therefore called on citizens not to take laws into their hands rather they should assist law enforcement officers in maintenance of law and order in the society.
Also smashed were the windscreens of four (4) cars parked at the premises. The mob also burnt the official residence of the Divisional Police Officer. In the attack, four (4) persons lost their lives. Eighty-nine (89) persons have been arrested for the violence.

Residents of Benin city in Edo state today September 17th woke up to the shocking discovery of the dead bodies of three children abandoned at two points along the 2nd East Circular Road by unknown individuals.
Two
of the bodies, already in decomposing states, were wrapped and put in
a cardboard box and placed under a palm tree along the road while the
third body of a girl of about a year was dumped few meters away from the
others along the road by Uwa street junction. Officials of the state
Ministry of Environment have since taken the bodies off the street.
Nigerian Army Sacks GOC Who Was Attacked by Convicted Soldiers
The Nigerian Army has retired the former General Officer Commanding the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Maj. Gen. Abubakar Mohammed who was attacked by the 12 soldiers who were sentenced to death by a military court on Monday. PUNCH has this story.

Investigations by The PUNCH revealed this on Tuesday just as the Nigeria Labour Congress, the Trade Union Congress and human rights lawyers pleaded for the pardon of 12 soldiers who were sentenced to death by a military court on Monday.
The soldiers, who had on May 14, 2014 fired shots at Mohammed, in Maiduguri, were convicted for mutiny and other offences such as insubordination .

N1.5b Smuggled for Arms: Jonathan summons Security Chiefs
South African police said yesterday that it investigating the cash haul – because the money was more than the amount travellers can bring into the country. The cash was found stashed in the luggage of the two Nigerians and the Israeli, Eyal Mesika.
The bags were searched “after customs detected irregularities in the luggage,” and they found money.

I have dated my present girlfriend for 3 years and I dated my ex girlfriend for about 4 years. They really disliked each other as a matter of fact my ex girlfriend would call my girlfriend to threaten her. But for some reason I kind of calm4ed the situation but for some reason they got along this year and have opened up a business in a spare room in my house, none of them stay with me though.I know my girlfriend can be so naïve, so I’m not worried about her but my ex girlfriend can be so mischievous sometimes. So far I am acting all cool about the business and them getting along but then again maybe I and my girlfriend are under some spell, just saying.
So far they already have clients for their small business.
I don’t know if I should stop them from getting along and from continuing with the business or I should let the relationship die a natural death. I still have feelings for my ex and I know she does for me as well but I don’t want her back except as a friend.

Nigeria Military fires GOC attacked by convicted soldiers
According to Punch,
Mohammed was retired after he was recalled to the Headquarters of the
Nigerian Army without posting for months after the soldiers’ attempt on
his life.
It was gathered from a top military source in Abuja that the Army authorities quietly retired him last month.
The source said, “The Maj. Gen. has been retired; you don’t expect that to be made public; issues of retirement especially in the military are confidential. The man was at the Army headquarters for some time. He was awaiting posting then but he was eventually retired about a month ago.”
Meanwhile, the NLC, TUC and human rights lawyers have urged the Presidency and the Army Council chaired by the Minister of Defence to prevail on the military authorities to spare the lives of the 12 soldiers.

The Nigerian woman and the challenge of finding Mr Right – Alibaba
I have a serious matter at hand that I want to share. In fact, I should have shared this long ago, but the primary message from a friend that prompted the matter, was lost in between the series of inbox messages from those strange girls that are looking for romantic friendships on Facebook.
In a nutshell, a lady friend sent me an inbox message on how it’s harder to find a good man in Nigeria. And that the men who are “manageable” (her words, not mine) are so scarce and if you ever get them they are either married to a lady that does not deserve them or just repenting from a bad marriage from one of such women. Or even just lost faith in the whole marriage thing. Continue…I later ran into her at a club. After the usual introductions that have become common place with these social media network of friends… (You are my friend on twitter, Facebook, Tango, INSTAGRAM… That kind of thing)…. I chatted with her a bit and found out from what she told me, that, many women are now settling for anything in between MR Right, MR Not just ok and MR Nearly right. As she put it, it’s now a case of looking at what a guy checks out in the top 10 box… And if he has 3 out of 10, snap him up… Work on the rest 7, if you are lucky, you can get him to add 3 more of those top10 qualities… And begin to pray it lasts for as long as you both can manage.
BREAKING: Yola Farmers Allegedly Find Missing Air Force Fighter Jet
Sources close to the Yola Air Force Base confirmed that the plane crashed in Lala, Gombi LGA.
The newspaper further mentioned that the Alpha Jet (NAF 66), a key weapon in the war against the Boko Haram insurgents went off the grid since Friday, but has now been discovered with the help of Lala villagers.
So far, efforts to contact the PRO of the Airforce have been abortive and his Personal Assistant, Wing Commander Sunday said he wasn't competent to speak with the press on the matter.
However, a story by BusinessDay reports that the Defense Headquarters has confirmed that the NAF 466 is still missing.

Malta Boat Sinking 'Leaves 500 Dead' - IOM
Two Palestinian survivors told the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) that the boat, which left Damietta in Egypt in early September, had been intentionally sunk by traffickers, BBC reports.
According to the IOM more than 2,500 people are now believed to have drowned in the Mediterranean this year.
News of the sinking near Malta emerged as another vessel carrying 250 people sank off the coast of Libya.
Over 200 people are feared to have drowned in that incident.

'Django' Actress Daniele Watts Goes on Offensive After Being Detained by LAPD for Heavy PDA
While being interviewed by CNN on Monday, Watts, who has appeared in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and TV shows Weeds and Partners,
said that she refused to give an LAPD officer her identification when
he asked for it because, "I believe in America and what it stands for."
Watts claims she was detained
because officers thought she was a prostitute. The actress, who is
African American, and her white boyfriend, celebrity chef Brian James
Lucas, have accused police of racism for questioning them after they say
they were just "making out" in public.
The incident happened outside of CBS Studio Center in Studio City on Thursday, and picked up attention over after Watts detailed her account on her Facebook page, stating, "officers accosted me and forced me into handcuffs."
"I gave him my ID knowing we did
nothing wrong and when they asked D for hers, she refused to give it
because they had no right to do so," wrote Lucas. "So they handcuffed
her and threw her roughly into the back of the cop car until they could
figure out who she was. In the process of handcuffing her, they cut her
