AIG Mbu takes charge of Lagos, Ogun as Police move 26 officers

ABUJA — Ahead of the 2015 general elections which would kick off on February 14, the Police High Command has redeployed Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu to Lagos as the AIG in charge of Zone 2, comprising Lagos and Ogun states.
Mbu was former AIG Zone 7, Abuja, and also former Commissioner of Police in charge Rivers State; Federal Capital Territory and CP in charge of Mobile Police, MOPOL.
In a swift reaction, spokes- person for the APC in Lagos, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, kicked against the move, saying: “Mbu must understand clearly that this is Lagos. Since Lagos was created in 1967, it has been in the hands of progressives. It is not Rivers or Abuja. This is a special state where the best minds live. The is the city of civil societies and the media. We know his antecedents and if he brings his unbecoming behaviour to Lagos, we will retire him from the Police.
Also affected by the re-deployment are Mr. Tunde Ogunshakin, formerly AIG in charge of Training, now redeployed as AIG in charge Zone 6, Calabar, comprising Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross Rivers states, while AIG Tambari Mohammed takes charge of Zone 1, Kano.


AIG Musa Daura takes charge of Zone 5, Benin, comprising Edo, Delta and Bayelsa states, while AIG Adenrele Shinaba, formerly CP, Kano is now AIG, Zone 4, Makurdi; AIG Mohammed J. Abubakar is the AIG in charge Zone 3, Yola.    AIG Patrick D. Dokumor, formerly a directing officer at NIPSS, Jos, is new AIG, Zone 7, Abuja.
Christopher T. Dega now heads Zone 8, Lokoja; Usman Akila Gwarry is AIG heads Zone 9, Umuahia; Bala A. Hassan is now AIG Zone 10 Sokoto; while ikemefuna okoye is AIG Zone 11, Osogbo. Mohammed J. Gana is aig Zone 12, Bauchi, while sule Mamman is AIG Force HQ.
Other AIGs are Adisa B. Bolanta, Commandant, Police Academy, Kano; Edgar Tam Nanakumo, Force Animal Branch; Sabo Ringim Ibrahim, Border Patrol; wilfred Eje Obute, Armaments, fhq abuja; kalafite Helen adeyemi is aig maritime, fhq;  ibrahim m. maishanu is aig info-tech, fhq; while jubrin olawale Adeniji  is   FHQ 2i/C FCID.
Lawal Tanko is AIG in charge Police Mobile Force, FHQ, Abuja; Ballah Magaji Nasarawa, formerly AIG Intelligence, is now CMDT, PSC Jos; while Yahaya Garba Ardo is AIG in charge of Counter -Terrorism Unit, FHQ
AIG Buhari Tanko is in charge Special Duties at FHQ; Olufemi adenaike is AIG Training, FHQ; Umaru Abubakar Manko, formerly   AIG Zone 2, Lagos, is now Director, Study Group, nipss, Kuru, Jos; Irimiya f. yerima is AIG Communication, FHQ; with Mark Adamu Idakwo now AIG in charge of Federal Operations at FHQ.
A statement signed by CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, Force Public Relations Officer, said the redeployment followed recent promotions of some senior officers and vacancies occasioned by retirements.
Meanwhile, the Police Service Commission, PSC, yesterday, approved, with immediate effect, the promotion of CP Adenike Abuwa to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG.
