After what seems like forever, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will finally fight Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas, according to a surprising new report. The two boxers allegedly hashed out a deal just hours ago.Manny Pacquiao & Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight Set — Deal Is Done
The fight is a done deal, multiple sources have told TMZ.Manny had allegedly signed off on a May 2 date at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas weeks ago, but they were just waiting for Floyd to agree to the deal, SHERDOG.com claims.
Surprisingly, Manny has agreed to only take 40% of the revenue earned that night, while Floyd will get 60% of earnings.
The rumors of the fight actually happening have been going on for quite some time. It wasn’t until earlier this week, when both boxers were in attedance at the Miami Heat game and had a private meeting to discuss all the details, that it actually became a reality.
On Jan. 20, Manny told HollywoodLife.com, “Well we’re just waiting for — I mean there is time to — now we’re just waiting for the signed contracts from [Floyd’s team]. If they say yes and sign the contract, then the fight will go on.”
Thankfully, the fight is a done deal and will be happening.
Manny also told us, EXCLUSIVELY this time, that he will “fight hard.” We bet he will!
