Sclerotherapy for Varicose and Spider veins is a procedure designed to improve the appearance of veins. The veins are injected with a solution called Sclerosant which helps to eliminate spider veins or small varicose veins. Usually only the very tip of the needle is inserted into the skin, whilst this can be experienced as a tiny scratch, it should not be more painful than plucking hair

It is a proven and safe procedure and has been in existence since the 1930’s.The exact cause of these vascular malformations is unknown but it is believed to be related to a combination of factors which include hereditary as well as hormonal factors along with heat and alcohol.
