Winger Angel Di Maria will be a Manchester United player next season, according to manager Louis van Gaal.
Poor form
and his dismissal in the
2-1 FA Cup quarter-final defeat by Arsenal
had led to speculation the record £59.7m signing may seek a move away.
But Van Gaal said: "I think he'll stay. His reaction and attitude after the defeat and the red card has been good."
The Dutchman also said United's owners, the Glazer family, were "pleased" with his management of the club.
The United manager, who defended the attitude of out-of-favour striker Radamel Falcao on Friday, also backed Di Maria before Sunday's Old Trafford meeting with Tottenham (kick-off 16:00 GMT).
The 27-year-old Argentine, signed from Real Madrid last August, has not scored and has contributed just three assists in his last 10 appearances since 1 December. He has had to move home after an attempted burglary at his Cheshire house.
"Despite that incident... he is very pleased to be here at Manchester United," Van Gaal said.
"I am always compassionate about a player's needs and although I cannot say anything for definite about his future, I don't think he will move."
Van Gaal, who has been criticised for his tactics and style of play during his debut season in English football, also spoke about his own future at United and said he had "faith" that he would see out his three-year contract.
"I have spoken with the Glazers and because of those discussions I am here now," he said. "I think they are pleased with my way of managing the club."
