What can Van Gaal do to get a win: Burnley hold Man Utd to a 0-0 draw

Manchester United continued with their poor start, failing once again to secure a win after playing out a 0-0 against Burnley in their third Premier League game of the season.

Coach Louis Van Gaal has now not won in his first four games since taking charge of Manchester United.

In a game that United started with their record signing,Angel Di Maria, hopes were raised about a mouthwatering game in prospect.

There were also Robin Van Persie,Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata in the starting eleven, which meant that United should have had enough firepower, but it was not so as they totally struggled.

Manchester United started the game poorly and it was Burnley who nicked it early on,running at their defences with good intent.

It was Burnley who came close to opening the scores in the first five minutes of the match,Dave Jones hitting a free-kick on to United's crossbar.

Burnley was impressive, asking all the questions having as many as six shots on targets in the first half of the game, while United only had one.

David De Gea saved his team's blushes coming off his lines on a couple of occasions to avert danger.

The chance that United did get fell to Van Persie when a delightful pass from Di Maria picked out the Dutchman, but Burnley's keeper Tom Heaton made a a good block to prevent the goal.

Di Maria had a good first half but had to leave the game in the second half with suspected cramps.

Burnley defended deeply and very stoutly when United roared at them in the second half, not giving any room to errors.

It was a disappointing game for United, one that they would want to forget quickly, but things are not looking up brightly for them especially with the amount of money they have spent to rebuild their team.

Van Gaal did say that he tends to be a slow starter, maybe when all the injured players starts coming back and fully fit, things could start looking brighter .

Maybe after the international break in two weeks time, but at the moment it looks bleak.
