Not a good time as Armed
robbers on Saturday night raided the home of Nollywood Actor Lanre
Omiyinka Baba Ijesha the producer of Dangote movie at Ikorodu in Lagos
Nigeria.
Information reaching that the robbers carted away properties worth millions of Naira from his home, including his newly acquired Record, capture, import camcorder, car, cameras and cash worth over N10 million.
Lanre Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, was not at home when the robbers broke into his house, as he was said to be in Lagos where he was shooting a new movie.
When police visited his home on Sunday, the place looked deserted and there was nobody around to speak on the matter.
However, when reached on phone, Omiyinka confirmed the incident, saying he lost his laptop, video camera and a car to the hoodlums.
Omiyinka told Esabod on the phone when contacted, he described the incident as “very unfortunate”, adding that he had reported the matter to the Lagos State Police Command for necessary action.
Esabod contacted the area police on the telephone, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Lagos State Command, confirmed that the hoodlums broke into Lanre's home.
He however said it was not a case of armed robbery, but theft and burglary.
“Yes, the man was away from his home and some people who knew that he was not at home took advantage of his absence and broke into his house.
“The hoodlums made away with his stuff. But, it is not a case of armed robbery or armed banditry as you are portraying it”, Police said.
